Iced oatmeal cookies!

March 30, 2014
The other day I made the best iced oatmeal cookies!

They tasted just like the ones from the store,

but better!
They were (yes, I say were because they are all gone) chewy!

Warm!
 And, the glaze was perfect!

Here is the recipe:

2 cups rolled oats
2 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup butter softened ( I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup coconut oil to make it healthier.)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

GLAZE:
2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
( If you like lemon, you can add a little bit of lemon juice in place of some milk.)

  1.  Preheat oven to 350
  2. Put rolled oats into food processor. Pulse for about 10 seconds
  3. Mix all dry things in a bowl.
  4. Then mix creams and sugars in your electric mixer
  5. Slowly add eggs and then vanilla.
  6. Then add dry ingredients to your wet mix.
  7. Roll into 2 tablespoon cookies and bake 10-12 minutes.
  8. Cool completely and then dip the tops in the glaze.
  9. Let dry and enjoy!!

If you make them, let me know!

    1. They are so good! Really?! That is neat, don't you love them? My older sister told me that my blog is turning into a food blog. I was like "No.. I only did two posts with food this month..." ! :D So, maybe less food?

  4. Mmm, these were SO good!!! :D I love how fluffy they are! I added the coconut oil like you, and I found that it gave the cookies a really nice coconuty flavour- and we love coconut and oatmeal cookies! My dad ate so many, I think we lost count. ;) They will definitely be in our family recipes from now on!!

    Thanks Julia!! ❤
