Interview with Micaiah!

January 21, 2015
Micaiah from Adventures over the Horizon  asked me to do a blog interview for her, and I quickly agreed! After talking with her a bit, I asked if she would like to do one for me as well...so if you would like to read my blog review for her click on this link- yup..right here ;).

Hello Micaiah! Welcome to Writing For His Glory!

Hi, Julia! Thank you so much for having me!

Could you tell us some of your favorite hobbies?

Of course! I love to read and write, and I really enjoy singing and music. I like taking hikes, photography, rock climbing, spending time with my family and playing games, baking, and blogging!

Do you tend to get tired of a book series quickly, or do you wish for them to never end?

Hmm... good question! It really depends on the series. Such as: I’ve read the whole A Life of Faith series by Martha Finley, and that has 24 books (though it’s really three separate series about related people), and I actually never got bored with it until the last two books, and I ended up reading those a few months ago!

When you were younger, can you remember something that you really wanted to do? (i.e. ride a horse, go to Disney World, etc?)

Well, at one point I actually wanted to start a band with my church friends! It never happened though. ;) And I was like eight. It was more of a passing thing!

If you could play one board game for the one whole evening, what would it be? (i.e. scrabble, monopoly, chess, checkers, etc?)

I’m not sure! There is a game that I’ve enjoyed playing called Cranium – it’s a mix of pictionary, charades, brainiac questions, and word games, plus other things! :) And it’s rather fun!

What subject do you start your school day with? Your favorite, or least favorite?

Normally the first class I do is either reading or Bible. And I typically end the day with science and math, which isn’t the best idea! ;)

You are making dinner for your family, but burn the main part! What do you do? Remake it (only to have dinner late), serve the burnt food, or throw it out and forget about it?

I guess if I had enough of the ingredients to make it again I’d throw out what I burnt and remake it (if it wasn’t a really complicated meal)! Or maybe make something else... :P

Are you a messy person or a total organized one?

I am definitely more on the organized side! My room will occasionally get messy, and then I’ll clean it up really thoroughly. I like to be organized, for sure.

Fruit or nuts?

Fruit!

Would you rather go sledding or have a snow ball fight?

I suppose I’d like to try sledding again (I’ve only gone once!), but if there were snow-barricades set up and my whole family played, I think I’d choose to have a snow ball fight!

What are some of your favorite blogs to read?

Oh, definitely The Storymonger. It’s run by Braden Russell, and he intertwines humor and great advice into basically every post, and also writes about writing! Also, Word Painters. My favorite author writes occasionally on Word Painters, and there is some good advice and tips for writers!

What is your favorite TV series right now?

Another good question! :) I’m going to say Terra Nova – it’s really exciting!

What made you want to start a blog?

I wanted to talk about the books I love, and I had the idea of writing reviews in mind. So, basically, I wanted to talk about the books I enjoy to people other than my family (who probably get just slightly bored by it all)! :D And it’s just progressed from there!

Thank you so much, Micaiah, for telling us a bit about yourself!

Thank you so much for having me!
