Epic randomness

May 22, 2015
Oh the exciting things that are happening in my life! I feel like a little bubble ready to burst with all of the new adventurous things I am going to tell you in this one post. Okay..let's see, where should I start??
First off, summer reading starts in two weeks! Who else will be reading (and listening to audio books) constantly? The prizes at my library are pretty awesome..but the challenge about it is the best! I mean, come on, who doesn't enjoy writing 30-50 slips including your name and phone number every two weeks when you go to the library?! slightly sarcastic there. But I adore summer reading! :D

Also, it is May, which means garden work! Yay! And by looking at the forecast, tonight will be the last frost for a while. So, I headed out to the garden with our tiller and got to work. After 4 hours (and a few breaks!) half of the garden is completed. I love the look of freshly tilled garden next to the newly cut lawn. Oh, summer, thank you for coming..now, please bring some heat! (It's still been cold where I live.. :P)
So, not long ago my sister and I began to realize our small room was becoming smaller with her business, my books, our clothing, bed, and the bedroom junk under the bed. LOL! A few options came up and finally we made the decision to no longer share a bedroom. She moved out, and I stayed in the room. It took a few hours, some interesting maneuvers to get the full bed into the basement (just you wait for her blog post! :D), and lots of organizing to get two separate living spaces. I am surprised by how much space I have.. lol! I admit - I miss sharing a room. But, having your own bedroom (after 5 years of sharing) has some nice things about it. It will never be the same though. :)

Another grand surprise is that I will soon be reviewing a dress from eShakti! Something I am very excited about..I'll tell you more about in the review post which will hopefully be soon..once I get the dress. ;)

There is so much more I want to tell you all, but that will have to wait for another day..another blog post. I pray you all enjoy the summer weather and Memorial day weekend. :)

Do you enter summer reading at your library? Do you share a room? What is your favorite thing about May?

  1. That reading challenge sounds fun! But I have never done one like that... :P I am, however, looking forward to summer reading after I finish up school! :) I share a room with my older sister (which is great). :D

    2. I certainly do love to read! ;) I wish I could read more than I do sometimes, but school (first year of high school) has been keeping me pretty busy. I have gotten more reading done lately, though. :) And YES we totally stay up late talking sometimes! :P How did you know...? ;)

    3. Oh that's awesome! I've been trying to fit in more reading as well.. I just enjoy it so much! :D Oh... hmm, I don't know. ;) Maybe it's because sisters are allll alike. ;) Do you tell each another "goodnight now....*silence for 5 minutes*" and then you remember something else you wanted to say? :D Haha, if so, then I am sure all sisters are alike! :D

    4. Haha! Oh my goodness - yes! It's like: "All right, We should go to bed...Goodnight." And then someone starts talking again. XD It's fun, though. ;)

  2. I hope warmer weather hits you all soon! The last few weeks were really warm here, but it took a slightly colder plunge these last few days. Ugh. We're not doing anything for Memorial Day Weekend, just staying at home basically :) I've planted my garden somewhat, I'm just waiting for it all to start growing.

  4. Gorgeous pictures!! I love the extra time for reading during the summer, too. :)
I do share a room with my sister, and always have. When I was very young, I also shared a room with two of my brothers. Currently, my sister and I have the second master bedroom in our house, so space isn't a problem! Honestly, I would hate having my room to myself. I would be so lonely! Although, there would be good things about it...such as not having to sit in absolute silence while your sister hogs the laptop AND has a friend on speaker phone. :P
My favorite thing about May is...hmm. I don't know. I love the spring weather and my birthday is in May. I'm often stressed out, though, because I'm usually behind in school, since I'm a homeschooler. :P

Hope you have a lovely evening!

    1. Oh wow, having a large room would help things a bit. ;) I honestly loved sharing a room with her! It was just that her sewing business was getting to big that I had no room except for the side of the bed I slept on. ;) I enjoy being able to do school in my room now. Especially my algebra! lol! Haha, your sister sounds like the social type. ;) Ohh, happy early (or belated) birthday! :D I know what you mean..but school will always be there. :)

I hope you have a wonderful evening as well!

  5. Glad to hear the weather is well for you! The weather here is quite nice too! I am also entering a summer reading challenge, but unlike you, school just got out yesterday (I go to public school) and I've been starting to read again tons! It's hard to read when the high school life piles up on you!

    xoxo Morning

    1. Oh that's awesome! How is your reading going? What are you reading? And I so know what you mean about high school piling up! But, I guess in a way it's worth it. :) Reading can't be your whole life...or could it. ;)

    1. Haha, that's awesome! Do you have to do the adult summer reading? Also, have you ever won a prize? I once won the grand prize like 5 years ago. :)

  7. I love this post Julia! I'm actually doing a summer reading contest where you log in minutes for how long for read. The 1st place winner gets a kindle fire. I really hope I win but I'm excited for the reading challenge! Did I tell you? Sometimes reading slow gives you the advantage when your counting how many minutes you read. Yeah I'm a slow reader. I share a room! And my favorite thing about May is my birthday! Also, can you give me a favor by entering in my story contest? I need more entries because I only have 4. You can also enter my photography contest too! Check out my blog for more information. The most unique story wins a notebook or candy!
