lemon frosting // 1st time driving

August 27, 2015

Okay, WHAT?! I seriously drove yesterday for the first time ever. Yes! I truly did.. I'm still in shock over it. Yesterday was my birthday, folks! And, such a lovely day it was. :) I woke up by my youngest, little brown eyed brother, whispering in my ear "Good morning, BIRTHDAY GIRL!". Oh yeah. He is adorable. ;) Then, later in the afternoon, Sarah and I suddenly got the urge to learn a duet! Lets just say, duets are amazing! My annoying fingers fumble so often though. Uhg! Well, practice practice practice. ;)

I got so many amazing gifts, people! I couldn't tell you a favorite, but my brand new, adorable BLUE comforter may be ranking the highest right now. ;) And, Sarah! Okay, seriously, this girl knows how to make you feel special. She made that lovely sign BY HAND! And you see that paper flower??? Yup! She did that too. Don't ask me how, just don't. ;)

Driving.... So, yeah. I didn't crash. I didn't speed and I didn't freak. Okay, I did a little when I saw a car coming towards me. ;) But, hey! I had only been in the car for a very short while and I had every right to have a stomach flop. haha! My dad took me on dirt roads (and Bree tagged along :D) and an empty parking lot. My dad was amazingly calm when he was showing me what to do! That really helped with my nerves. ;) I can't say there is one thing I really don't like doing...except for the blinkers and mirrors (thankfully I didn't really have to use them..but I will! :P). I've got so much to learn! lol!

My mom made THE BEST EVER lemon frosting for my vanilla cupcakes! Haha, I am not a chocolate person, so I requested vanilla. ;) Bree, Sarah, and I were doing our nails (girl fun! :D) when my mom came down with the cupcakes. My mouth seriously watered when I saw them! hehe! Oh, another request was that I didn't want to be sung the birthday song..... I just feel SO awkward. ;) I had such a great birthday!! Thanks all for your birthday wishes. :)

Have you started driving yet?
Do you prefer chocolate or vanilla??
And, the birthday song...how do you feel about it? hehe!

  1. Happy sweet sixteen, Julia! :) I got my driver's permit last week, and I'm supposed to learn how to drive, but I'm so nervous and so scared about taking the wheel... Blinkers and mirrors are my biggest fears, though! :) I love chocolate-- I have such a big sweet tooth. Vanilla's not that bad, though!

    xoxo Morning

    1. Thanks Morning, you are so kind. :D Oh wow, that's great! I don't have my permit yet but I will very soon. My dad figured I needed a bit of experience before driving on the road. I totally agreed. ;) Oh I know! It's like, hello world, I've only been in the car for 5 minutes...just stay away! haha ;)

  2. Oh you are lucky... tis 2 years till I get my full licence, but when I got my Ls I drove out onto the highway..... within the first 5 minuets.... I have no idea what my dad was thinking.......Talk about terror! and panic!... I did not allow him to do that to my next sister though!

    1. Oh I won't have my license for another year or so! :) Hahaa!! Wow, your dad kinda just threw you into the deep end, huh? I wouldn't have even let my dad do that. :D I panicked enough when he put the clutch into drive and the car started moving! I had NO idea it was going to move. lol! Aww, now you are a nice sister. :D

    2. Luckily we only have automatic cars, so no evil clutches........ still!

I have also tagged you to answer some riddles in this post on my blog:

    3. Ohhh, neato. :D I actually liked the clutch though. :D

Thanks! Sadly, I am utterly stupid when it comes to riddles...so I probably won't be able to do it. :P But thanks anyways! :D

  3. *still sings you "Happy Birthday" anyway* :P I was sung "Happy Birthday" on my birthday by my family and the entire staff of Olive Garden so it was a little embarrassing but the restaurant was virtually empty anyway so I just decided to enjoy it ^^ Normally, though, I feel super awkward and don't know whether to just smile like a nerd through it or sing with them or clap or...I just don't know what to do haha. So I feel you on that one.

My dad first had me do basic driving back when I was 13, and then when I was 14 my mom would let me steer from the passenger side (which doesn't really count haha). Now that I have my learner's permit, I've been driving a lot more. The mirrors always get me too, because I'll be trying to focus on what's in front of me and maintaining the speed limit and staying straight on the road but I'll forget to check the mirrors and then three cars will come up on me and pass me and it's very nerve-racking. So I feel you on that one too :P

Happy birthday, by the way! ^^

    1. Oh you! ;) Thanks :D My Dad sung to me at midnight when it was officially my birthday. I just glared at him and laughed. :D Oh boy, I would have melted into one huge awkward puddle. ;) They seriously need to come up with something for the birthday person to do. Haha!

Oh that's fun! This was my first time and it was a lot of fun. :) I will get my learners permit in a little over a month. I'm so excited! :D Oh dear, I am not excited about driving on real roads yet. ;) It just scares me because it is SO much responsibility!

      Thanks! :)

  7. Happy birthday!!!! That sounds like such a great day!! I remember my first time ever driving. I felt like I was going so fast whenever I went over 11mph. A few days later I ran at one of those speed radar trailers on the side of the road and realized the fastest I can run on foot is 11mph!!
