blue headphones // goodwill

Getting back to school is one of the hardest things ever. I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean. It's just SO tough to get into the mindset of "I need to get this report done, and my geometry and then history..." and getting up early?! Ohhh boy. Not my strong suit, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. ;) I usually wake myself up by listening to music when making my bed. If I could, I would open the windows, but it has literally been 90 and HUMID. Humid as humid can be. It is like swimming in a warm, sticky pool. Totally gross. So, I've been sticking inside, because that type of weather makes me grumpy. lol!

My mom and sisters went shopping at our local thrift store a while ago. Actually we have gone quite a few times. Hahaa! You know, shopping IS fun. ;)  I prefer getting clothes for my fall/winter wardrobe rather than my spring/summer. I just love the long, comfortable shirts you can find. The adorable shoes and must I add, finding modest and covered shirts is A LOT easier than in the summer??! I had to be a little creative the last few months because of the little I found when shopping.. Am I the only one who has this problem?? But, anyways, I did find a beautiful blue lacy top and a few others. :)

And I went and saw "WAR ROOM" in theaters with my mom, a friend, and her mom. It was such a good movie!! I laughed so hard at many parts and nearly burst out in a choking sob in others. And I never cry. ;) We all walked out of the theaters with a happy face. I was thrilled that the Kendrick Brothers chose to do a movie more from a woman's perspective. I want go on, because I don't want to ruin the movie for those who haven't watched it yet. haha! Now I'm looking forward to their next film! ;)

Have you seen "WAR ROOM"?
Is finding modest clothing hard for you?
Do you like humidity?

p.s. I apologize for any crazy ramblings...I'm a little tired. hahaa

  1. Finding modest clothing usually isn't hard for me because I'm still in the kids' section at Khols...yay....xP I usually go shopping at a thrift store in my town, they have a whole wrack of skirts and pretty shirts. My mom gets annoyed by how much clothing I find there. She's like: "Haven't you got enough clothes?!" And I say: "Nooooo!"

    1. Oh that's a blessing! :D That is really nice! Our thrift shop usually has a lot of shirts, but skirts. Oh my gosh, they are either sweeping the floor (I'm short too, so that doesn't help..) or above the knee. It really stinks.. :P Leggings usually have to accompany many of my shirts. lol :P

    1. Awww! That is too bad!! We had to drive 45 minutes, but that wasn't horrible for such a grand movie! :D I can't wait for you to watch it and let me know what you think. :)

  3. I haven't seen War Room yet, but ugh, I can sympathize trying to get back into school. Two weeks ago was my first day of school, and I cannot comprehend how hard it was to make myself budge from sitting around and procrastinating (aka doing nothing) to actually get myself to study, and right now it still feels like I'm dragging myself. Thrift shopping is so much fun! I like up cycling and mixing outfits. ^.^

    xoxo Morning

    1. LOL! I know the feeling! Yesterday was my worst day so far..and today I have a migraine, but I want to plug through anyways. I'm actually done except for my history! :D Oh me too! Having 2 other sisters and a mom in the same size helps a ton with clothes too. :D

  5. Yum, I love peaches! I know, finding the right clothes can be pretty difficult, lol! I've found Gabriel Brother's ( I don't know if you have one of those where you live? ) carries a better selection of modest clothing than most stores.

    1. Oh me too! I made a dessert in the campfire with those. :D I just added cinnamon sugar, lemon juice, and nutmeg then threw them in a tin foil package into the oven. It was sooooooooooooooooooooo good! No, we don't have that store..but I am glad you do! :D

  6. Ughhhhh, waking up early is NOT fun for me. I'm homeschooled too, and I have to get up at 7. Which isn't bad, but it's bad when you've gotten used to getting up after 9.... :/ And my alarm always scares me half to death, even though it's (thankfully) set to K-LOVE and not to "beep beep beep!" like my old clock.
What time do you have to get up for school?

    1. Hahaa, yeah, then you know how I feel. ;) My alarm used to scare to me too, but then I got a phone and I can set my alarm to many different things that are bit more cheerful. I often find myself going "oohh why won't someone turn that thing off?!" then I wake up a bit more and turn it off. lol! I usually get up at 8, but sometimes I wake up before my alarm clock, or I hit the snooze once. ;) I'm always up before 8:30 though. Haha!

  7. Oh, and yes, sometimes finding clothes can be tricky. Especially because I'm very tall. The clothes in the juniors department at every store I don't even bother to look at because they're all paper thin!

    1. I'm short, which actually helps with the short supply of skirts below the knee! I can wear what would be WAY too short for someone over 5'3 and it can be okay. I usually wear leggings though because I just feel more comfortable. ;) I thrift shop, but I get what you mean! :P

    2. That's so neat that you thrift shop! We don't, only because the thrift shop that is closest to us is rarely open. :P It does sound like fun though, and I'm sure you get a lot of great deals. :)
Do you like being short? I always wanted to be shorter when I was younger.
