not so easy // coded messages

November 17, 2015

I never really realized how hard playing the piano was. I kinda looked at it and said "oh gee, I can do that!"... oh, yeah right Julia! lol! I'm serious, it takes a long while to get your brain and hands to coordinate. Annnnndddddd, with being such an impatient person, I find it hard to focus and stay seated when I'd rather walk away screaming. ;) When I was about 7, my mom started me and my older sister on piano lessons. Of course, at first, I loved it! But, then the actual practicing and hard work came and I wasn't so in love anymore. :P I really regret the choice of walking away then. I must say, having all my friends who play amazingly, sure does make me try harder. ;)

If you're like me, you just don't like the dentist at all. Like I said in my last post, I have some cavities. :P Well, I had to go yesterday to get them filled. I haven't been there in a while, so they had some sort of fancy new laser treatment they were going to use. I was like "uhhh..this is odd to me." lol! But, it wasn't that bad! I was surprised that there was like no pain, well, that was the case for a while. Then it started hurting and he had to do a numbing shot. :P You probably know that those aren't fun either. haha! My dentist is so funny though! He's like "almost done.... just think about Justin Bieber...". I'm like *gag*. xD I mean, come on??? "What you don't have Bieber Fever??". SERIOUSLY?! ;) "uhhhhhh uh." I mean, what else could I say, there WAS a needle in my mouth. lol

I just finished reading a book about a 16 yr girl during World War II, who lived in France.  She became a spy, carrying coded messages, to help the Resistance. I know this is fictional, but I also know that there really were young girls who were spies! What really stuck me as interesting was that she went to Paris once. Now, I'm not going to get into the political view about everything that's happening there now.. but I am going to get into the spiritual one. We seriously need to pray. Prayer can change things.  Prayer is SO STRONG!! <3

What motivates you??
                What is your dentist like??

  1. Haha, I'm the same way about the piano! I took a class for ten weeks and when it was done I was just like, "OK, I never want to play again". All those notes made me dizzy! XD I have gotten back into it a little though---my cousin (who is amazing at piano and is younger than me!!!) gave me a mini-lesson last time he visited us.
Ugh, I hate cavities!! :P I haven't gotten one in...uh....two years? But I still hate them. And yeah....I don't have Bieber Fever either!!! (bleh!)
I'm not really sure what my dentist is like, because I switched dentists recently, so I've only been to his office twice so far. He's pretty nice though, doesn't say much, but I like him. :)
That book sounds REALLY interesting!! I really like historical fiction so I'm sure I'd love it. And I've been praying lots for the people in Paris too...because you're right, prayer really can change things!!

    1. Oh really! How long ago was that? I wish I could take a class. :D I don't even know how to read notes.. I really want to learn that. :D Aw, that's cute! That's great. I went a while too. I sure hope to keep it that way again. ;) Ohh, I see. My dentist has a fun sense of humor. :D It really was! I'm sure you would love it. Yes, it can. :)

    2. Uh....let's see....about four years ago. :P So yeah, it's been a while. Don't feel bad, I barely know how to read notes either. ;)
Yeah, he's REALLY good....like, he sounds just like a pro. And he's only ten years old!

  3. Keep trying Julia! You'll get it!<3 Piano is so fun and you get a great sense of accomplishment from it:) I know you can do it! My dentist is really hilarious as well!:p Its really awkward when they ask you questions when you have a needle or something in your mouth! But when they are fun its easier to relax:) My orthodontist wasn't very friendly and it just made me feel more uptight:p That book sounds really good. Whats it called?

    1. Aw.. I will! I sure do wish I could have you help me! :D That is very true! Its really an amazing feeling to finish a song, ya know? Yes!!! I guess they must get pretty bored of only hearing mumbling. ;) Orrr, they are really good at understanding that foreign language. ;) Oh, that stinks :P Hmm.. I think it is called, "For Freedom; a story of a French Spy." :D

  4. What motivates me . . . hmm. Well, strangers smiling at me (lol). Getting something done that I've had hanging over me for forever. Learning something new.
My orthodontist sings while he checks your teeth--no kidding! He also tells jokes and compliments you on your teeth and sings, "She's a great girl!" while laughing. Yup, he's definitely a character. ;)

    1. Really?? I guess that is pretty cool. ;) OH YES. That one for sure. And, learning something new motivates me too! I want to do it often. ;) HE SINGS?! lol!! That's actually pretty funny! Mine likes listening to chessy 60's and 80's music. xD

  5. It is hard to make yourself practise the piano everday, but it's worth it when you can see some improvement. Are you doing grades or just learning for fun? I must admit having two older sisters who are very good pianists is great motivation for me to practise.

    1. Hey Sophie!!!! I've missed you! :D Yes, it is very hard! I guess it just has to be a thing that you really enjoy...well enough so it means something to you to keep on going. ;) I am actually doing it for both! I wanted to learn something new this year, and my mom brought up piano, which I was REALLY happy about! So, I get credit and I'm doing it for fun. Haha, I know what you mean. ;)

    2. I've missed being around so much! But I'm back in tne blogging world again after NaNoWriMo.
I think the only way you're ever going to excel at exams/grades is if you love the instrument and truly enjoy playing on it.

    3. Ohh yeah, I've attempted NaNo before... it was a little too much for me. :P Oh totally agree there! Do you play an instrument?
