snow everywhere // apple pie

November 25, 2015
First off ------- HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the Sarah-look. ;) ;)
I woke up to a bunch of giggly siblings at about 7 am. It had SNOWED. The first snow of the year and they couldn't wait to play! I just rolled over and put the pillow over my head. xD My whole family was going on and on about how pretty it was, and to be honest...it was pretty. But, don't tell them I said that. ;) The snow did make everything seem a bit more homey and warm inside. Like, all I wanted to do was snuggle up and read a book. :D Ohh..and speaking of snuggling up... I FORGOT to take before pictures of my bedroom. :P I just got into the mood and suddenly I was moving stuff, throwing things out from under my bed (heheeee), and rearranging my precious books (which all have a cool story..hmm..blogpost idea!! ;). Of course, I realized after I finished, that I hadn't taken any before photos.. I slapped my forehead for you all. ;) soooooorrrrrrryyyyy.. lol!!

I'm also looking for some new hairstyle ideas. I LOVE having my hair shorter, but somehow, I feel like I don't really know what to do with it! :P Its a little past my shoulders, just to give you an idea. ;) One thing that I do like is french braiding it in the night, then waking up to a quirky curl deal. Its kinda spunky, so that's fun! A friend of mine told me about the headband no-heat curls.. have you tried those? I did, and I woke up with a frizz ball. THANK YOU hair straightener! lol

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!! Can't believe it.. is it just me, or has getting older put a damper on the whole holiday thing? When I was younger it used to hold such magic! But, now, I forget that it is even coming. There is no count down, no excitement, and certainly no magic. I am very blessed to have all my little siblings, though. I guess they hold part of the energy that I have lost. I get to see the twinkle in their eye that I used to have, and sometimes, a small tinkle shines in my eyes again! I do love baking though, so I do a lot of that for the holidays. :D

Curls or straight?
Thoughts on SNOW??..

  3. That apple pie looks amazing! I bet you made it?:)
I wish my hair held curl, but I can never get it to hold, no matter how much hairspray I put in it... I usually just straighten it. :) Oh, yeah, did you make one of those trees in the first picture! Thats a really cute idea!

    1. lol, yes I did! ;) Mine is like THE same! The only way my hair will hold curl is if I braid it the night before. It's kinda annoying. :P No, I didn't, I saw it at a craft show! It was soooooooo cute! I wanted to copy it though. ;)

  4. Search Pinterest for hair-do's if you can! There are a lot of cute ideas on there for shorter hair. :) That apple pie is loaded, it looks so yummy! Snow...most of the time I'm just like bleh, I don't care for it. When we lived in Nebraska we got tons of snow that stayed put for months. Down here in Missouri we get a bit of snow and try to go sledding real quick because it melts the next day. So that's nice! I'm planning on going snowboarding and tubing this January in upper Missouri though, looking forward to that, but yeah, otherwise I'm fine without snow, lol. ;P
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

    1. Oh great idea!! Thanks! lol Can you tell I'm not very technical?? ;) It was so full! I guess I thought I was going to make 2 pies, but ended up only having enough crust for one. LOL! Me either. Uhg, I had a traumatic winter a few years ago where we had 8 foot piles of snow. xP It was nasty!! Woah awesome! I tried snowboarding, and um, if you read my blogpost about it from last February, then you know the outcome. hahaa! Yeah, you too, thanks! :D

  6. SNOW!!! *starts singing the song from White Christmas* You have snowwwww!!! Oh, I hope we get some soon. :-)

I totally understand what you're saying about how some of the magic slips away when you get older. I know the feeling -- I think a little bit of it's inevitable. I can still remember when I was little and EVERYTHING about the holidays was so AMAZING. ;-P But I think as long as you remember that, you can hold on to at least a little bit of the magic. And like you said, having happy younger siblings helps. :-) I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    1. "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...with every Christmas card I write.." ;) I hope you do too! Will you post photos? :D The snow is actually already all gone, but thats okay with me. lol Oh, really! I'm glad I am not the only one experiencing it. lol Yes! I do love seeing my little siblings open gifts and gasp at its wonderment. :D I did!! How about you? :)

  7. I've got really weird hair that looks curly enough the day after I wash it that people ask me if it's natural or not. But it gets straighter and straighter until the next time I wash it until it's pretty much just straight, haha. I prefer the curly look, but not enough to put any extra time into it, haha. I's lazy...
My thoughts on snow can be summed up by a quote I found in J.R.R. Tolkien's works where Samwise the Hobbit says "I love snow as much as any other Hobbit... but I like to be in bed when it's falling." Yesssss!!!! Heehee :).
