wisdom teeth // magical red umbrella

(store's version)
(My remake!)

Have you ever just seen something and gone " I HAVE TO HAVE THAT."?? Of course you have. ;) But, the price tag usually doesn't agree with the money you have. I know that is often the case for me. I just totally fell in love with the magical look of the red umbrella on a rainy day, so I took a picture to show my sisters. They all agreed that it was SO cute, but $40 was outrageous! Bree told me we could remake it, but honestly, I didn't think it was possible. For one, I didn't even have a red umbrella! Goodwill came to the rescue and supplied me with one. ;) God gave me a magical rainy day, and Bree took the photo. Now all I have to do is print it out on one of those fancy canvas frames, and BAM! My own, personal, rainy-day-with-a red-umbrella piece of art. ;)

I shared a bedroom with Bree for a couple years, and in the spring she moved down to our finished basement cause her business was taking up so much space. ;) It was so different having my own room at first! I didn't really even have my own style because half of mine was half of hers. lol! Since then, I have gotten my own bedding, brought in some of my own interests, and put my mark on the bedroom. Now with Christmas coming up (OH MY GOODNESS, what did I just say?!) I'm starting to get in the mood of changing it up.. moving my bed, adding Christmas lights, rearranging the books, and wintering it up with coziness. I'm planning on doing BEFORE and AFTER photos. ;)

I just went to the dentist and found out that I don't have any wisdom teeth on the bottom, and the ones on the top probably won't be an issue at all! I still can't believe it!!! But.....................................I, uh, found out I have some cavities to deal with. That REALLY stinks because I've been cavity free for the past 5 or 6 years. Uhg, SO MAD. lol
Have you ever tried to copycat something?
Christmas?? What are your thoughts?

    1. Aw, you're sweet! I agree, it seems a bit more realistic. :) Haha!! I took that photo right before the farmer harvested. I was a bit sad when he did.. I miss the 'getting lost' in the field moments with my sister. ;)

  3. I love your remake more than the picture. It's beautiful! :) I'm a little mad about how everyone one is kinda forgetting about Thanksgiving and saying Christmas is almost here. I'm ready for the Christmas season though. I just don't feel like IN THE CHRISTMAS SEASON until Thanksgivings gone. Lol ;P Oooh cavities stink. My brother was cavity free and then got a couple so yeah. I have a cavity too though ;( The best part is a nice chocolate shake after it though. :)

    1. I agree! :D Haahaa, sorry, but I just am not a big Thanksgiving person. ;) It really doesn't seem like that big of a holiday, and who just wants to sit, eat, and get fat?! No thanks. XD I know what you mean! I really don't feel in the Christmas season until the first snow. :) ooh, maybe I'll have to persuade my mom for a shake or some ice cream. LOL!

  4. I always have that problem with canvases! I LOVE places like Hobby Lobby, but I just can't pay that much for something. I made my own quote canvases. (I did I blog post on it.) That is really cool; I like your picture better! ;) My wisdom teeth started coming in a couple months ago, and they were super painful for a couple days, and then they went back down! My mom said that her's did that, too. Uck. =P Can't wait to see your Christmas decorations! (I'm waiting until the day after Thanksgiving to start celebrating Christmas...but the radio has already started playing Christmas music!)

    1. Oh I know, Hobby Lobby is like slow death... ;) That does sound awesome! I need to find somewhere to have it printed, I just really haven't searched yet. Thanks!! I feel the same. :D Ooh, yeah, I actually thought I had some!! I'm still slightly suspicious since I thought I could feel them... who knows, maybe they were wrong? I told myself that I would set a date, but then I was like, WHY? It only comes once a year. ;)

  10. $40 seriously?! Wow so ingenious to do a remake. ;) Thanks for sending it to me!! My mom will be so excited for her Christmas present lol. I can't wait for the before/after pics!! I'm going to start decorating too. I'm thinking origami snowflakes and this tiny Christmas tree I bought when I was like eight. I might even purchase some fairy lights . . . and a Christmas candle! Though I'm not too sure about having it burning . . . Amanda and fire do not mix lol.
    IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!! WHAT EVEN!!!

  11. Your picture is gorgeous, Julia! A Christmas/winter inspired room??!! Sounds like my kinda thing. ;) Unfortunately our girl's room is painted coral so it limits the creativeness. Please share pics if you end up changing your room around. =)

  13. Wow! That picture turned out beautifully!! I have a very small table top Chritsmas tree to decorate my room. I do light Christmas-y scented candles so I kind of decorate with scent too, if that counts.
