molasses art // 150th

January 18, 2016
I discovered reading again. Isn't that rather odd for me? The one who raves about books, who lives and breathes them?? I guess you could say I got stuck in the mobile world for a while. I found that I would rather text with my friends (hehe yes Clara and Amanda ;)) then read at the moment. Basically - I FORGOT IT! *gasp* It must have been a week ago, but we lost internet one night. So, I read. hehe It was awwwwweessome. I am now staying up VERY late and reading.. it's probably not good for me, lol, but I like it better than being on my phone. ;)

I reached my 150th post - today! I love blogging about my life. I cannot tell you how many times I'll go "oh, this is so going to be a BLOGPOST" and everyone will look at me a chuckle (or moan??). Sarah and I often will screech "post title!!" out in public. ;) It's the awkwardness of taking photos in stores and making normal things look abstract, the hours at night thinking of what I'll say in my next post, and the AWESOMENESS of your comments. :D

I adore making breakfasts. It's just SO my thing! I will hook my phone up to our bluetooth radio (OH YEAH), tap on my "I'm in love.." spotify folder, and jam with my favorite artists. I, um, yeah okay, I actually dance in the kitchen. ;) I was making pumpkin muffins and Bree walks in JUST when Josh Wilson's "THAT WAS THEN, this is NOW" came on. I spun to the cabinet going "bought by the blood *grabs molasses*, saved by the Son *starts pouring into bowl*, that the saints all sing about!" and ta-da, my cursive molasses art. ;)

Have you forgotten reading?
Do you sing when you're in the kitchen??

  1. Wow! I can totally imagine you pouring the molasses and singing! I wish I was there to do it with you! :) I only sing in the kitchen when I'm home alone..I turn on the radio and...Its Broadway audition time!!!! Whats really awkward about that is when you hear the garage door open when your parents get home... Im like singing at the top of my lungs, then all of a sudden everything comes to a standstill and I run as fast as I can to turn the radio off and pretend like I'm doing chores!:p

    1. LOL!! I think you are one of the few who can TRULY imagine it. ;) Oh!! Hahaaa!! That's so awesome. ;) I love listening to music EXTRA loud. I say its either loud or nothing. haha! We had a Newsboys "Your love never fails" and TobyMac's "Me without you" music feast today in the kitchen...when I was babysitting xD

  2. Lol, you two are always coming up with blog post titles -- especially when we are in public places (like while we were waiting in line at the theater). ;)

I like your molasses art. And, just think, you weren't going to take a picture! What would you have named this post then?

    Love your sis, Bree

  3. I feel like I constantly say this, but this sounds so much like me, hahaha! I clicked it open, and my sister was standing beside me and asked, "Who can forget reading?!?!?!?", and I was like, 'Ummm... me. It's not that we forget reading, it's just we can forget why we want to make the time for it." Haha! And breakfast is my meal, haha. Not that nobody else makes it, but the mornings when I make breakfast before everybody else is moving yet are like the perfect mornings for me, haha! And Bethi says your molasses-ed flour looks good, haha!

    1. Haha! It's true - you are, but I don't mind. ;) LOL! I am glad to know it is slightly normal and possibly to do what I did.. Oh, well I actually make breakfast the night before. you see, I am NOT a morning person.. lol! So, I am known for finding breakfasts that still taste great the next morning. :) Haha, tell her thanks :D

    2. Oh, I'm not a "morning" person either, unless I've gone to bed early, haha! Actually, the thing is, I NEED a set amount of sleep, or I'm a bear!!! If I happen to go to bed early, then I wake up early, once I have hit that set amount of needed sleep, and you could never tell I'm not a morning person, until about 8 at night when my day has lasted toooooo long and I'm laughing so hard I'm crying at absolutely nothing from exhaustion, haha! But the rest of my family is even less morning people than I am, except Tori, so I always just what for everybody else and go to bed late, haha!
If you enjoy making breakfast the night before, have you tried overnight oatmeal? Brianna-thomas.com has a delish chocolate mocha oatmeal in her recipes, and it is my absolute fav Sunday breakfast!!!!

  4. Dancing in the kitchen? Absolutely! Nice molasses art. ;) (Really, though, it does look cool!)

Oh, I would so like to spend hours reading! But, alas, no time as of now. ;) Granted, I do spend time on my phone/computer when I could be reading, so I feel your pain! I'm glad you rediscovered reading. :D

P.S. Have you ever watched/read Anne of Green Gables? I know we used to own the first two movies, but I was too young to fully enjoy/like them. I'm planning on getting the first two movies again and watching them. :)

    1. YES! you know, it's like a stage to me. If people find it awkward - well they had better not complain or no breakfast. xD lol!! aw thanks! I guess there is the thing of making time.. so I've decided to make it! Though, last night I colored another elephant picture though... lol
Oh YES! I have probably watched it close to 50 times.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie! I've read the series probably only twice, and audio books once. I prefer the movies for some reason..I'm guessing since I watched them as a kid. ;)you HAVE to watch them and let me know what you think.. you'll die over Gil ;)

    2. Oh, yay!!! I'm glad to know you loved it!! Yeah? I was looking into the books and decided I'd rather watch the movies... ;) Ok! Ok! Will do. ;D I'm excited! (Oh...Gil does look a little adorable. ;)) When I watch them, I'll let ya know! :)

    3. Oh yes.. and you will too. I just KNOW it. :D Hahaa.. I guess we are opposites there. ;) He is!! It was like soooo sad when we found out the actor who played Gilbert died..we basically had a little mourning period. no joke! Thanks!!

    4. I'm very much looking forward to watching it. Even more so now! ;) I've seen some moments between Gil and Anne on YouTube (like when he rows up beside her in the lake and is all like: I rescued you! HAHA! She so didn't want to say thank you...) ;) and it looks so fun! Were the books good? I just didn't know if I'd like them (I read a bit of the sample of the first one on Amazon and Anne's talkitive-ness seemed like it would be more fun in movie-version than to read). ;) Oh, gosh... :/ Yeah, he wasn't even that old! :(

P.S. It might be over a month, however, before I watch them. Nonetheless, you shall be notified! ;D

  5. You dance in the kitchen?! Haha...I'd like to see that! :) And I'd like to join you...making pumpkin muffins to Josh Wilson sounds like fun. ;)
I don't sing in the kitchen, because I rarely have music on when I'm in there. I actually never thought about putting music on while cooking. Next time I do work in the kitchen, though, I'll be sure to hit my Pandora app and jam to "Josh Wilson Radio"! LOL!
    *Sunny
P.S. Speaking of Josh Wilson, I was at the library today and the guy standing in front of me at the front desk looked just like him! I was like... *snort* ;)

    2. Yay, be right over!
LOL! My mom doesn't even listen to music when she's in the kitchen...just talk radio usually which is definitely not the same.
*whispers* I think so too. But I mean, come on, who can resist Josh Wilson?! I love his song I Refuse. :D I knowww.....I wish I could have taken a picture! LOL!
      *Sunny
P.S. I found a YouTube video a while ago, where Josh Wilson tells about how you can promote his album See You. I die laughing every time I watch it....here it is for you to see: https://youtu.be/8loDCV3YdGc

I know, right?!?! The bread was my favorite part. ;) I love the end when the salesguy is just like, "Sir, would you please stop littering in our store?" XD
Whaaaat?!?!?! Life just isn't fair. *goes off and sulks in a corner*
Haaha, just kidding! :O) That is AWESOME!! I really hope you get to meet him...and I'm hoping you'll do a post about it.

  6. I tend to listen to music while doing dishes, but I'll have earphones in and be singing at the top of my lungs while my sisters are like, "Stop singing!! It sounds bad cause we can't hear the music!"

Have I forgotten reading? Heck no. I NEVER go ANYWHERE without a book...or three.

    Miss chatting with you!!
