new wallet // pure mud road

February 1, 2016

I'm the type of person that if something's working - don't fix it! I have had the wallet on the right for a looong time. I remember when I got it though *sappy grin*. It was like a garage sale purchase in a cardboard box with tons of odds and ends - because that's how 8 yrs do it - I saw it and fell in love with the denim. It was probably just 25 cents or something. haha!

I found the Rosetti leather wallet today at Goodwill. I was really happy with the zipper design. Now, I won't be dropping all of my change everywhere, which is super embarrassing when there is a long line at the store and you had already looked like a dope because you were searching for that dime in the pit of your purse..

That's when you just. walk. away. xD

It feels like I've been running errands a lot lately. Especially the library for some reason..which I am not complaining about. ;) I kinda came to the odd realization that I've been going to the same two libraries for 10 years collectively and SOMEHOW have never run out of books to read. And, since the snow has almost completely melted here, I get to drive!! I am almost to 10 hours of drivetime - wahoooo!!!!! but, with melted snow comes muddy roads... they are reallllly bad. LOOK OUT FOLKS - Julia is DRIVING ;)

Can you guess how much my wallet was?
Do you run out of books to read?

  1. That's a cute wallet :). I carry a purse -simply because it has a strap and I hate holding things in my hands while I'm out and about, haha- but I also have a little wallet as well.... denim with a little fake-jeweled butterfly outlined on it, which I got around age eight, too! It's snap is broken, but since I carry it inside a purse, I've decided it's not worth replacing :). I'm going to say it cost $25 dollars, since it's leather... ?
I sometimes think I'll run out of books, but I've never actually accomplished it yet! And there are always plenty of old friends that I have to get reacquainted with often :).

    1. Thanks!!! I realllllly love it.. It was funny cause I was at the store with my dad so I was so unsure of myself without my sisters. LOL! But I think I did well. *smirk* I have a purse as well, but I often will use my backpack on library days and it feels so awkward to bring BOTH, so I grab my wallet.
I LOVE MY NEW ONE SO MUCH
Hahaa! I know what you mean.. I don't think I will EVER run out of books.

    2. Hahahaha! That made me laugh so hard, hahaha! Yes, I have, it's my favorite store for clothes, lol... unfortunately, I often read your posts when my brain is already shutting off for the day ;).

  3. That denim wallet is ADORABLE. I need it. Haha, I totally get the change thing too...that happens to me all. the. time. The worst thing is when your phone rings in the checkout line, while you're putting change back in the wallet...and then you drop all your change while trying to grab your phone out of your purse. :P
Your new wallet is sooo pretty! Love the red. I'll say it was $3.
And as for running out of books to read...never! I'm working my way through the Anne of Green Gables series and want to read the sequels to Little Women. For some reason I can never finish library books though...it's weird.

    1. LOL! you can HAVE IT. I am sooooo done with it. It's got milk duds melted on it though.. I guess it was a hot day and I left my purse in the car with a random chocolately caramel mess. LOL!
My new one is actually the leather one. ;) But, I have always loved the red of the denim one too! ooohhh. sooo close. :D
Oooh how do you like the Anne series?! Which book are you on? Oh wow, that is strange! that's really all I read! lol. hehe I love my umbrella too. ;)

    2. Milk Duds?! Haha! The wallet I have now has honey mustard stains all over it, courtesy of a McDonald's honey mustard container that exploded in my purse once...ewww. Milk Duds sound much more appealing. ;)
Ohh, okay, I got a little confused there. That one looks great too!!
I LOVE it to death. :) I just finished Anne of Avonlea last week and really enjoyed it! The end is so sweet!!! Do you have a favorite Anne book? :)

  4. Hi Julia, I've been stopping by the library more frequently these days too! I don't think I have ever run out of books to read. Before I moved, I spent a lot of time in the library of my hometown and like you, it seemed I never ran out of books to read. Now I own a lot of books and I have yet to read all of them!

Was the wallet $5? Or less? With Goodwill you never know, but they usually have really good bargains.

    1. Really, Dani?! That's great.. I often have to remind myself that I still have 15 or so books to read at home! lol! Sometimes I'm a bad girl, but I do finish a book once I start it! Unless it's bad...or soooo boring that it doesn't hold my interest, which is rare. ;) I do love my library though.. so many stories!!

ahhh!! You are so close also! I love Goodwill.. I can usually find practically new things for more than less the original price and I can get books for $1!!! ;)

  5. "LOOK OUT FOLKS. Julia is driving!" Haha. Everyone seems to think you're dangerous when you're a new driver. It's not fair, is it? I mean, we're rational human beings, we're calm, we know what we're doing....haha, NOT. (Or maybe you do. When I started driving for the first few months I was a road hazard of my own.) ;-P

    1. I KNOW!! I guess it's just what goes around, comes around... I've teased my sisters and friends many times so..you know. lol! Did you have an older sibling to tease? lol! I actually think I do pretty well.. I do get extremely nervous when something unexpected happens. I guess everyone does.. but I feel like I don't know WHAT to DO and that is a pretty horrid feeling. ;)

  6. I never run out of books to read, there are way to many in the house... and I read over 100 last year and I have one whole shelf in my room dedicated to books I want to read soon.

    1. wooah that's great!! Last year I read 70 something.. but I in 2014 (OHhh soo long ago) I did reach 107. I was so proud. :P lol! I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to the books I have read..and then a small section for the ones I'm working on. I do love a good book :D

  7. I actually want to get a new wallet... I should be on the lookout for one. ;) Okay, okay... Was it $4? I'm going to guess $4.

I do sometimes run out of books to read. Scratch that - books I really *want* to read. ;D I have multiple books on my shelves that I haven't read yet, but they don't seem super interesting, so I keep buying new books. ;) I am, however, in the middle of a book that's been on my shelf for months now. (It's kind of boring... *sigh* But it's for my reading challenge so I am going to finish it. ;D)

    1. I felt the same way... and was on the lookout for a few months!! :P I think that is partly why I am so super excited about it! ;) Noo...not $4 - I am glad it wasn't! lol!

I do the same thing! Well, my real problem is going to the library so often that I don't ever NEED to read the ones I own. But, when I buy one that I've been wanting for a long time and found magically, you can bet I read that fast. ;) I just sent you an email!! :D

  8. yeah, i have a pretty nice wallet i got at walmart like 4 years ago. it works...so yeah well. you know, sometimes i see those big name brands who sell like teeny cute purses for like thirteen million.

okay maybe not THAT much, but wayyy too much. SERIOUSLY PEOPLEEEEE?

hehe, but your wallet looks really pretty :) have you ever made a purse out of jeans? i had a friend who did, and it looked so cool. haha, and i remember the one time she came to my friend's house and i was at the friend's house (this is totally irrelevant, confusing and random but oh well :) and the friend's little brother was snooping in her purse and she didn't know what to do so i had to go and physically take the purse from this seven year old. #random

anyways, haha. i haven't run out of books yet...currently i'm really into the anne of green gables all again. i think it started when i had to read it for a book report, and now i've seen all the movies and am reading through the series quite rapidly :)

  9. Heyyy!! Autumn! ;) That's great! What color is it? I really have this odd thing for colorful wallets..but I went so neutral this time..whatever. lol IKR!? The worst part of it all - the things that cost so much are usually SO ADORBS. I just try to breath and walk away. hahaa!

Ohhh gosh, that's so funny!! I often find my siblings going through my purse too, but they are on the lookout for gum..because I kinda..just maybe, have this thing for gum. ;) I usually get to my purse before they do. haha!!

oohhh...that's great! I have read like 6-7 of the books, in order.. so I think that's all of them?? Not sure! lol Which is your favorite?

  11. Super cute wallet! I always carry around the one and only wallet I have, which I got from Vera Bradley.

I have actually run out of books that I actually like reading. I didn't even start reading ( just for fun of course, not in general ;) Until two years ago. I just can't find any that I like, got any suggestions?
