power outage // addicted to chevron

March 16, 2016

I was peering out my window last night, taking a video (OF COURSE..what else do we do in this age) and this huge lightening struck, making the night turn to day. I cringed because of the thunder that would come - BOOOOOOOOOOM - then this weird dimmed darkness. I realized my fairy lights were half way powered, weird huh? Sarah was downstairs, so I scrambled to her room, with the intentions of unplugging her lights too.

Okay. so, Sarah has outlets in STRANGE spots. lol! I couldn't find them. She came out of the pitch black somehow (such a brave soul) and solved my problamo. Since it was really WAY past bedtime anyways, we went to bed. Well..not before eating ice cream straight out of the container. Bree, Sarah and I couldn't stand the thought of it melting!! LOL (I ended up going to sleep by 3 a.m....)

I was literally ready to leave Hobby Lobby without my little prize. But, I looked at the price tag and it said $4.99. if only it were on sale. No, just get it Julia. It's sooo cute! so I did. My chevron light switch plate turned out only being $2.50. Now isn't it SO cute?!

Which light switch do you prefer?
What is the latest you've stayed up to??

  1. I prefer the chevron light switch (and only $2.50?? WOW!). It's easier to see in all that black. ;)
And wow...3am? I'd be dead by that time, seriously. I can't remember the latest I've stayed up...once during a hurricane we stayed up super super late, and my sister and I were eating chocolate cream pie at midnight. XD So maybe 1am is the latest I've stayed up??
That melon in the first picture looks delicious!!

P.S. I did it again! I went into my Wordpress feed thinking you'd posted again, and what do you know: 'the barefoot gal', "posted 9 minutes ago". How do I do this? ;)

    1. Me too!! I was so pumped about the price. I was ready to pay the $5, but ECSTATIC about the $2.50! lol Oh, believe me, I felt dead. I was ready to sleep allll day, but I knew if I did, there would be no way I would go to sleep tonight. So, alas, I got up as usual. lol Hahaa! What's up with staying up late and eating desserts with sisters??? :D
Thank you! Those are actually peaches..but, thanks! I made a blueberry-peach crisp the other day for dessert.. it was soooooooo good!

    2. I was with mom because she was sewing outfits. We're going to colonial Williamsburg and we make colonial clothes to dress up in.....it's a cool experience when you're there;). So I was just keeping her company.....no clue how we made it that long though! Lol!

    3. ohhh wow! How cool is that?! Aww, did you guys just chat or watch a show? My sister sews a lot too (she sells modest swimsuits!), so I often chat with her or watch oldies. :D

  4. Sounds like a crazy day! The ice cream must have been a plus though! ;P
Actually I stayed up super late just the other day, for a sleepover. I think it wasn't until 6:20 or so when we went to sleep finally, and we got up at 7, so yeah...
I'm going to be having an all nighter sleepover in a few weeks hopefully though, so that will mean no sleep, not even 40 mins! ;)

    1. Oh, it was even crazier.. I just didn't include everything else that happened! lol It was...ice cream is always a plus. xD
OH. MY. GOSH. are you kidding me?! nooo..noooo. NO WAY. lol!! I would have been the party crasher who was asleep by 12. I don't get it, at home I'm a owl, with anyone else and I'm ready to go to sleep early. lol! It's the introverted in me. ;)

  5. Your light switch is so cute! I have been kept up pretty late by thunderstorms...I've also stayed up pretty late coming home from concerts (and by late I mean really early, like 2:30 am early) AND I've also pulled an all-nighter once but never again. :D

    1. Thanks! I agree 100%! ;) Ohh, you can't sleep when it storms? I usually try to stay awake to watch the lightening..lol...but I still fall asleep! My mom is always like "oh? It stormed??" lol!! I've never pulled an all nigher - the latest I've seen was 4 am. And I was M A D about that.. LOL!!!

  6. Eating ice cream out of the container at 3 AM? Sounds like so much fun!!!! :-) I love doing weird things like that late at night. (But only if I can go right to bed afterwards....haha.) The latest I've stayed up I think is 3. I'm really not a wild night person. Well...only a little bit. ;-P

    1. Oh, Emma, it was!! You see, I've got this terrible thing for ice cream. I would eat it the moment I woke up if I could!! LOL! I have to control myself.. *sniff* I LOVE random adventures..even if that adventure is just in your kitchen with a spoon and sisters (and don't forget the ice cream lol!) I bet you will stay up SUPER late when Naomi comes!! ;) Oh so exciting!

  7. You made the peaches and blueberries look so good! And you're super lucky to get a thunderstorm-- for three months, it doesn't snow, and then it decides to snow in the middle of August. Yipee! At least it'll be easy to look for that light switch when your room gets dark, now that it's beautified. XD

    xoxo Morning

      uh..............August?!!!?!

I love my little light switch! All my siblings keep on touching it and wondering where I got the pretty one xD

  8. Power outages are always exciting! Especially if they involve ice cream! And the chevron pattern is cute, although I like the simple black one as well!
