i didn't save it // peeling potatoes

May 18, 2016
*moans* I just lost most of my blogpost...WHY DIDN'T I MAKE SURE IT WAS SAVED?! *regains composure..slowly* SO basically I was talking about how this marble post office rocks..and how all the new fancy postal technology just doesn't fit.  It's like you can imagine an elegant lady dressed in 1910 attire to walk through the door, but you turn around and see a lady wearing jeans and a sweatshirt come through it instead...

I had to parallel park along side the road to get into the post office, and OF COURSE the only spot was rather tight. Let's just say that turning around in this majorly pot hole-y parking lot, and slipping in was. not. easy. #igottaworkonthat

Bekah asked me to help make mashed potatoes just now -- "Okay, so are we using red or brown potatoes? 'Cause the red ones don't need to be peeled, but the brown ones do. Jula, why them don't need to be peeled?" Let's all just let the fact that she is only 4 yrs old soak in.......

Do you have a cool marble post office?
Did you know that red potatoes don't have you be peeled??

  1. Wow, that does look like a nice post office. I really like old buildings, and imagining the stories behind them.. We don't have any quite that old in our local town, I don't think, but I'm sure they've still got lots of stories, if only we knew.

Also, I totally know what you mean about the parallel parking! :P

    1. Imagining stories behind - YES - YES - YES!!! That's sad. We have countless old buildings around here.. They even tore down this AMAZING silk factory from early 1900's. I still haven't forgiven the city for that. lol!

      Phew! Isn't it rotten??

  3. I was editing the summer prep guide and it totally refreshed the screen and I lost one of the pages I was working on. *growls furiously*
BUT YOU ACTUALLY PARALLEL PARKED, YES? Parallel parking is kinda hard. I did it three times. The last time my teacher didn't even say anything and I just kissed the curb (not literally--but every time I got out of that car I wanted to).

    1. I forgot that you did PREP! Anyways..lol! Urrrgh, seriously?! You understand then. :P
WELL..kinda yes. I really just slipped into it from along side the road. xD I was GRATEFUL beyond belief. I think I had to do it twice.. yeah, twice. I did watch one other girl do it too though, from outside the car. ;) That was helpful

  4. For some reason that second picture gives me the creeps! *runs away to hide in fear*
Our post office is pretty cool...and I'm pretty sure we have marble. It was built in 1910ish, and everything is pretty much the original! Don't you just love old buildings!!?!
Bekah is darling! AHH! I wish I had a little sister! *sigh*

  5. I only knew that because my sister told me.. Lol. I would have never guessed that you didn't have to peel red potatoes and I'd be the person sitting there try to peel them for half an hour.. ;-)
