why i don't want to graduate // 40 hours

June 10, 2016
Once in a while I'll get asked the question "wait..are you graduated?" I'll smirk and say "not yet," then I'll frown and be like "I actually don't want to graduate." OH THE LOOK I GET. "oh. why not? I mean, it's school. And you can always go to college. it's not like college isn't school. you can still learn at college." I usually just shrug it off because people - you just don't understand.

I'm homeschooled (if you haven't already guessed that...??) and being homeschooled it like a precious treasure to me. People can't grasp my meaning. I LOVE LEARNING PEEPS. I thrive on randomly wondering "huh, what really does A- blood type mean?" And, then I can quickly go look it up and learn something. Being in high school has brought a new level to my learning aspect. and this fall I'll be starting my last year of that. A senior. I'M A SENIOR.

Today I reached 40 hours of drivetime!!!!! *screeches because I'm almost there* Nearly ready to road test. My dad isn't thrilled that he'll have another licensed kid. He say's it makes him feel old :P poor guy *wink*

How do/did you feel about graduating?
Any tips for me while road testing??

    1. 3 WEEKS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh goodness! But you understand me! LIKE YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND. oh.. just you and a kindergarten grad? Fun.... I'm glad I'm not going to do a graduation thing like that. *GASPS* TOO...uhg. I can't go on a stage okay? :P

  2. Yes, I really really understand you!!!!!! Yep, just the two of us! It's at our church, which isn't really big, 'bout a hundred people, but then you add up my family and other friends that will be there. Yeah...........I keep saying that I don't want to walk, but my friend is like, "You'll be fine!! I didn't want to do it last year, but once I did it, I was fine and it was fun!" And I'm just like, "Get out". I mean, do I really have to wear the cap and gown!? Another thing to worry about! Lol!

    1. Oh, well I'm sure you'll still have fun. ;) Hahaa!! A cap and gown? NO THANK YOU. This is why I'm going on a graduation trip and not messing with a party or something where I may have to make a *COUGH* speech.

    2. Oh, yeah.....NO SPEECHES!! I'm glad they don't make you give one. Our pastor would like it though, if you play an instrument, to do a special. So, I'd much rather do a violin special than give a speech😂😂

    3. YOU PLAY THE VIOLIN? *hugs you* that was my dream instrument.. *sniff*

  4. Oh, I get your feelings on graduating! I finished last year (and was homeschooled too), and this year has been hard. Like what am I doing? What should I be doing? There's so many decisions to make..

And I enjoy learning too (I'm going to go and look up A blood types now). I'm always running to the dictionary, to find out what words mean, and where they originated, and their original meanings. I find it fascinating, if you can't tell. :P

The only tip I have for your driving test it: pray hard. I was going to add 'stay calm and focused', but I think we all know how long that lasts.

    1. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPP. You do understand! And BTW, isn't homeschooling amazing?

lol!! A friend of mine was telling me about how if you have a certain blood type, you should or shouldn't eat some foods. Like an excessive amount of dairy, etc. I thought it sounded cool! xD

uhgggggggggg. well that is very good advice - BUT STILL. I'm going to try to NOT think about it...maybe that'll work.

  5. I GET YOU!! I really don't want to graduate either. I still have two years, but I love homeschooling! I don't want to leave it xD

  6. GO JULIA YOU CAN DO IT!!! I'm honestly not even ready to think about school again. I just got out a couple weeks back and I want to make the most out of this summer :) But yeah, that's so awesome that you'll be a senior! Are you going to get Sarah to take your senior pics? (Haha sorry #random)
I was homeschooled for two years and it was pretty great, but I think the reason it didn't work out for us is because of the way it was set up and stuff....I know a family (You know that family of 11 that I was saying about the one time?) that does homeschooling and HAAHA when I'm there during the day when they're all doing school it's like YUP THIS IS SCHOOLING. haha, it's pretty funny sometimes how distracted they get ^_^ But i honestly think it's a really great thing.

    1. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. give me summer or give me death. (quote by me ;)) I really would like to go back to full summer again and again and again..just as long as I KNOW that I'll have school in the fall. It's safe that way. ;) I actually hadn't even thought of it!! But, probably. Maybe I'll have her take them when we go on vacation this fall..
That's so cool that they homeschool too! AND YES - it really is your curriculum that makes homeschooling. Distractions are part of learning actually! ;) But, YES, homeschooling rocks if it is for you. And I totally get it when it isn't. :P

  7. I DO want to graduate...but we'll see how I feel when I'm actually ABOUT to graduate. XD Ya know??

And, nope. I don't have any advice from personal experience, but I'd just say relax; don't be stressed! :) You'll be fine!!!

P.S. It seems I've interested you in blood types... XD

    1. Hahaa! See, I can get why people DO want to graduate - and sometimes I do too.. but then I'm like - NO GOD STOP TIME MAKE ME YOUNG AGAIN.

I'LL TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pray for me - please!! PLEASE!!!

p.s. yup. It's the natural homeschooler in me. I AM INTERESTED IN SO MANY THINGS.

    2. I know! I was a little freaked out about growing up a while back. It's just...strange. You spend time in your childhood wishing you were older and then you're older and it's like: NO.

I will pray for you, of course!

Well, I created a board on Pinterest for the Type A diet! Just a bunch of general things that we can eat all grouped together... (for the most part we can eat the stuff. There might be ingredients that you have to substitute... We are diehards in this house, Julia.) ;) You can check it out if your interested! ('Cause you know where to find me on there... ;)) And there's this recipe I'm gonna send you in a minute! :D

    3. I'M FINDING THAT PINTEREST BOARD RIGHT NOW!!! And thanks for the recipe!!

  8. I graduated what.. 8 months ago and I didn't either, my friends were so confused and to be honest I didn't know why. Now looking back for me it was the prospect of leaving a school I had attended for 10.5/12 years of schooling so it really felt like home. The teachers were my friends and I knew every nook and cranny of the tiny place with less than 1000 pupils (like my bros boarding school). Now I'm at College with at least 8,000 freshman and it's daunting to say the least but I found my way.
I hope this helps Julia :-D Also would you like to do a guest post?

    1. It really is a hard thing to explain. It's like "okay guys, sit down. this is hard for you to grasp - but I really like school. i don't like change, i don't like twists and turns, school is AMAZING." I really do that this is part of why I don't want to graduate. *whispers* i don't like change.

YES. It did! Oh?? a guest post on your blog? what would you like me to do? :D

      Delete
    2. Exactly!! That is so me! :-D I hate change too, and I've had a year where it was pretty major :(. Not this year thankfully but a couple of years ago and it was my hardest time ever.

OH GOOD! Well What would you like to do?!

    3. Ooops I realised I commented under my period drama blog account.. whoops!

    4. uhhhhhhhhhhhhg major change? Let's switch the topic please. lol!

Um...IDK! lol I kinda prefer being asked questions when I guest post, because I never know what to talk about otherwise. O.o

And, that's okay. ;) I figured it was you :D

  9. Julia, I know the feeling! I was really excited to graduate from high school (oh my, that feels so long ago). I love possibilities and after high school it seemed like the world was full of endless possibilities ahead. At the same time I was sad because I loved my high school years and I loved my friends from dance class, choir, home school co-op classes, etc, and it was such an amazing time of my life.

I guess you just have to enjoy it while you can but don't be afraid to move ahead because what comes next is pretty awesome, even if you're not sure what is next. :D

    1. Dani - can I first start off by saying how much I LOVE getting comments from you?! :D You always leave me with a smile or a thought to think on. Once again, you brought that thought for me! I have been thinking on future possibilities, but I've always told myself that its YEARS away (which it isn't..part of being an ISTP - we don't like thinking ahead) and now it's sneaking up and I'm like HOLD THE DOOR WAIT A SECOND LET ME CATCH UP. lol

I'll put on a smile and start out my senior year with excited thoughts of the future - you're right! It is going to be awesome!!

  10. I graduated last month... I wasn't ready, because I feel like I'm not done. I want to take some higher classes anyway, but other than the whole learning never stops thing, I feel no older now than I did at fourteen, and it scares me to be moving on to adulthood :P!

    1. Woah, last month??! Do you think you'll take any college classes? Adulthood is FREAKY. :P

    2. I have considered it, but if I do, it won't be right away. My heart really lies with special needs kiddos and adoption; I would dearly love to adopt some special needs kids if I marry. For now, I'm looking into finding ways to work with them in some other way, and I think that that would be more beneficial then college at this point. I discovered I don't need a degree for what I'm looking at, so I kind of want to jump right in and not waste even two years, haha :). I've also got y blog and Etsy that my dad is encouraging me to spend time in building up :).

  11. UGH YES I CAN RELATE SO MUCH TO THIS. And "that look" (a very unwelcome look hahahaha....HA) you get from people who jUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. :P learning is so precious <3 and I totally feel ya with always wanting to keep learning -- SO MUCH SAME.

EEEP YOU'RE GOING FOR YOUR ROAD TEST SOON?? All the best of luck, bro!! YOU'LL DO AWESOME, I'M SURE. Hmm my words of advice would be: always always always stop completely at stops signs, and look around (with your head AND your eyes if that makes sense XD) a lot. SO EXCITED FOR YOU!! <3 and I can't wait to see the room tour! ^.^

*shrinks* yes............ SO STINKING NERVOUS. Oh wow, GREAT advice! I am practicing the whole MAJOR LOOKING THING because my teacher was stressing literally turning your head all dramatic like because THE ROAD TESTER WANTS TO SEE THAT MOVEMENT. uuuhgggggggg

      hehee!! It'll be up tomorrow...let's hope. :P
