DONT GROW UP // he wore a kilt

July 1, 2016
obviously I am rather...bold with words?
First of all -- ITS JULY 1ST! THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP NANO - THE FIRST DAY OF WRITING 1,000 WORDS A DAY. ACK ACK ACK.

My sisters (those crazy gals) and I just repainted the huge place my parents call a bedroom (CEILING, WALLS (like 4 stinking coats) AND THE FLOOR - oh and the trim too) as an early birthday gift to my Mom. Hobby Lobby was our "little" decorating trip. *wink*

okay, what is more fun than a group of gals?! NOTHIN'. We stopped into Walmart and it was my job to go find bleach, coconut, and cornstarch. (yes - no joke!!)

As I was struggling with the two gallons of bleach in one hand, and my arms stuffed, I randomly looked up and saw this white fluffy, bearded man. He had these twinkling, smiling eyes. Just a normal shirt, work boots, a dirtyish looking tan, quite normal -- OH AND A KILT. YES. A KILT.

kilt
/kilt/
noun
  1. 1.
a garment resembling a knee-length skirt of pleated tartan cloth, traditionally worn by men as part of Scottish Highland dress and now also worn by women and girls.
verb
  1. 1.
gather (a garment or material) in vertical pleats.
    "kilted skirts"

YES THAT EXACTLY *nods to google in approval*

He then looked at me and said "Good day, miss.", then he proceeded to walk into the baking aisle.

Bree and Sarah still don't believe me *scoffs in disbelief* My mom believes me -- I MEAN HOW COULD I MAKE IT UP? I'm not that great at storytelling -- yet. *wink*

Do YOU believe me??
How is day 1 of Camp NaNo going?

Yes, I believe you, and I'm jealous! This magical kilt man sounds like he was on some kind of adventure in Walmart! You should somehow incorporate him into your NANO story lol :)

  9. Oh my, I like that story of the man in the kilt. And I agree with Erin, you should include him in your book - he sounds like a real character. :)

Also, everything in the first photo - that motto, and your shirt.. that is what growing up is like sometimes. :P And how great that you found the shirt at Goodwill!

  12. First off, I just want to say how beautiful the photos in this post are. The colours all go together beautifully!
Also, I'm so excited for Camp NaNo. Day 3. How's your Camp going? Seems to really good so far. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what's your username? I'd love to check out your novel.
You saw a man in a kilt? What a shock that must have been. Sometimes you meet the strangest people in the strangest places, don't you? It's so annoying when people don't believe you though.
