  1. Hmm... for a book over 400 pages long there's a book I like called "Keeper of the Lost Cities". And Trenton Lee Stewart is the author of the award-winning and New York Times bestselling Mysterious Benedict Society series. XD

    23. A book written at least 100 years ago. JANE AUSTEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN.

  7. OKAY SO....
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens was written at least 100 years ago. Its also a mystery...sort of, and its like MY FAV
Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens is set in England, so outside of America.
David Copper-field by Charles Dickens....#soromantic (can you tell I like Charles Dickens???)
Pride and Prejudice is a must read for every girl.....like seriously. XD
THE BOOK THIEF IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED IT CAUSE I KNOW YOU STARTED IT
Anything Shakespeare cause he's awesome, and somewhere in there is probably a place everyone wants to visit.XD
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a MUST READ. AND YOU JUST HAVE TO.
The Great Gatsby is also a great book by F.Scott Fitzgerald and has the coolest cover!
    OKAY I NEED TO STOP.
I don't know of any new books published in 2016 cause I usually don't read new books....cause ya know. XD
Well, I should really get Goodreads to, cause it would be nice to have a collection of all the books I have read. :)
GREAT JOB ON 78,000 WORDS, GIRL!! GAHH I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Love you, pumpkin! *wink*

  8. I read a lot of books in the great books/classics genera, so none of them are that popular, but you might like some of them.
    1. I love Charles Dickens, and most of his books would fall into that category.
    2. Jane Austen (mainly England) and Fyodor Dostoyevsky (mainly Russia) are great, but you could find lots of books with great settings. Or scratch that. Narnia would be great. Or Middle Earth. The options are endless.
    3. Lord of the Rings and Narnia are two favorites.
    4. Jane Austen is amazing! Oh! Have you read Frankenstein? It's different, but it's still good. Around the World in 80 Days is also amazing!
    16. I love The Nine Tailors by Dorthy Sayers!
    21. My copy of at the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald has a lovely lovely cover.
    23. Have you ever read Beowulf? It is AMAZING!! The Odyssey by Homer is also a favorite.

  9. 1. For a book over 400 pages long, I say read Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell if you haven't already. It's an incredible incredible incredible read with lots of history from the American Civil War if you're a history buff and romance! But beware, by over 400 hundred pages on this one, I mean 1,000 pages lol. XD It's a fat book. :)
    3. Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George. It is a great book overall and a quick read! I definitely thought some parts were a little sappy, but that's to be expected because it is a retelling of the twelve dancing princesses. If you like historical romances with happy endings and lots of action and a tad bit of mystery, this is the book for you! :)
    16. Without hesitation I recommend The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. < This is a seriously amazing mystery and my favorite book ever! Super cleverly written with lots of plot twists -- and British humor. ;) I think it's probably the best mystery I've ever read, and believe me, I've read a lot (to say the least). Sister rivalry, murders involving poisons, and the main character is an 11-year-old chemistry whiz -- gotta say yes, right?! ;)

    Hope these help!

  10. A book (going to be) published this year, 2016. Well I have not read this one yet but I have heard lots of good things about it from Christian circles, the book is “unblemished” by sarah ella
And if you have not read then how about the Luna chronicles by Marissa Meyer she is a New York Times bestselling author. And her books all have royalty in it, fantasy. (Clean yes but there is romance and quite a bit of violence.) Also book four is more than 400 pages long I think. But they are such good stories and fairy tale retelling like none other!

  11. 1. A book over 400 pages long. << Well /other/ than The Mysterious Benedict Society, there's Jill Williamson's Blood of King's series or Rachelle Dekker's Seer Series

    2. A book set in a place you want to visit. << *cannot think of any books set in Fiji* But I mean there's plenty of books set in Europe...

    3. A book with royalty in it, real or fantasy. << asdskjafdlsj Ascendance Trilogy by Jennifer A. Nielsen

    4. A book written by a New York Times bestselling author. << NAVIGATING EARLY BY CLARE VANDERPOOL IS GREAT. [also her other book Moon Over Manifest is brilliant also]

    5. A book set in a country outside of America. << Pick any ww2 book and you'll probably be good. (although Safely Home by Randy Alcorn was set mainly in China and that was fairly good)

    6. A mystery. << Hmm I don't read all that many mysteries... If I Run by Terri Blackstock though

    7. A book (going to be) published this year, 2016. << SALT TO THE SEA BY RUTA SEPETYS ASDLFJKL. this one is brilliant and beautiful and a large inspiration for my current novel. xD It also works for #4 I think

    8. A book you started and never finished. << heh you got me

    9. A book with a beautiful cover. << Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson has a stunning cover but I personally didn't like the actual book that much lol. XD Wonderstruck by Brain Selznick comes to mind though (https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/59170961-jonathan-trout?shelf=coverlove <also that)

    10. A book written at least a hundred years ago. << *wonders if To Kill a Mockingbird was written 100+ years ago because that one was fabulous* If not though... there's The Count of Monte Cristo which was really good

READ 'THE TRAPP FAMILY SINGERS' the book that inspired the Sound of Music. So far it's close-ish to the movie....ya know half & half. But some lines are direct. Oh yes I'm reading it by the way :D.

IT WOULD COUNT FOR THE ROYALTY because of the Aunt/Princess who plays the role of the baroness in the movie.

  16. 1. A book over 400 pages long, HAVE YOU READ "The letters of J. R. R. Tolkien", because it's awesome!!!
    2. Where do you want to visit?...
    3. (Or 14 or 21) "The Princess Adelina" (obviously) has royalty in it, and it's a true story set in Germany, and I personally think it had a gorgeous cover... soooooo, depending on how you are working this, you could make it count for three ;)? But no, for whatever of the three you need to find one for at the end of the day, it was a really neat book.
    11. Eh... I don't pay attention to that, so even though I'm sure I've read a couple, I can't given you a suggestion. Lol.
    14. "The Hiding Place"? Have you read that one?
    16. Never read, but saw other girls mentioned it to you, and thought I would say that my best friend recommended Mysterious Benedict Society series to me one time.
    17. I don't pay anymore attention to what is coming out than to what is the New York Times bestseller. I just find a good book on a shelf and read it, or look for one after five people tell me, "but you have to read it!!!".... haha. I like historic books or classic fiction (like Alcott and Tolkien) best, so I don't have to know these things... haha... sorry...
    19. What haven't you finished ;)?
    21. If you don't want to count Adelina, I LOVE the covers of the Reformed Expository Commentary books, but there really isn't too much TO the cover, so I'm not sure what pulls me about them... hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I tried... haha!
    23. Any of Louisa May Alcott's books would work here, my favorite being An Old Fashioned Girl, and I want so bad to read "Hospital Sketches"! Just not on the computer, which is the only place I have it :(. Or Charles Dickon's "A Christmas Carol"?! You could read that one during Christmas, since this list will be all you get to read the rest of the year :D. Haha! Plus it's shortish, which might be helpful... ;).
I don't know if any of that helps... haha :). I hope you are able to finish this :D! It sounds fun, but I've never tried to do one, because of this very reason... haha! What would I do for some of them!? ;)

For number one-Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom. These books are so good!
For number 3- And I Darken! And I Darken is possibly one of my favorite books of all time. YOU NEED TO READ THIS. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK
For eleven- The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder is the first book) are such an amazing series.
For fourteen- The Book Thief. I don't know if you've read this or not, but YOU NEED TO READ IT. It's amazing, heartbreaking, it's just EVERYTHING.

  19. I haven't read this book in years, so it might be way geared towards a younger audience, but I absolutely loved The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare. It's set in Israel...so out of America and could qualify for a "place to visit" if you want to visit there.

Also, Island of the Blue Dolphins sticks out to me as one of the most beautiful covers I've ever seen. It's also an amazing book. **WARNING** Read with tissues available. hehe.

I KNOW PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THIS BUT I CANNOT STRESS IT ENOUGH YOU MUST READ JANE EYRE. YOU MUST.

Jane Austen books are over 100 years old, and are outside of America, and are fabulous always. Also...England as a place to visit? And Five Children And It is 100+ years old and such a fun one.

I believe To Kill A Mockingbird was on the NYT Bestseller list for 98 weeks or something. So that one could count for that slot. It's sooooo good. :)

And yes people keep saying this yes but this is just ONE more confirmation. The Mysterious Benedict Society is amazing. :D

It seems as though all my favorite books are ones I read years and years ago, so some of these might be really geared towards a younger audience. But they're still great. ;)

A book with royalty in it, real or fantasy: The Royal Diaries: Anastasia: The Last Grand Duchess, Russia (SO GOOD)
    11. A book written by a New York Times bestselling author: the Selection, which is kinda spicy and PG-13 at times. Also The Book Thief which has cussing but the cussing is in German??
    14. A book set in a country outside of America: Once again, that Anastasia book I mentioned. Also any Jane Austen book because they're all in jolly old England. ;)

    21. A book with a beautiful cover: The Selection??? Ah I just know you'd hate that series though lol which is why I don't want to suggest it. How about I make a beautiful cover for my book and then you can count that huh? Lol . . .
    23. A book written at least 100 years ago: SCARLET. LETTER. Now there's some thoughtful lit. ;) Or Beowulf . . . or Canterbury Tales . . . or a play by Shakespeare. Don't worry, I have a list if you need more help.
Okay, you can admit it; I'm the best friend ever. :) LOL!!!

  24. JULIA. OH MY WORD. I DID NOT KNOW YOU WERE DOING THIS. YOU SURPRISED ME, GIRL. *bear hugs to you now* ;) You can finish this!!! GO DO IT. ;) I only have to finish War and Peace to finish the challenge... *sobs bc it's 1400 pages long but I'm gonna try* (I'm 740 pages in tho)

    And the recommendations:
#1 - Um, for this one I read Black by Ted Dekker. It's a high-fantasy book but it was good. Also, Emma by Jane Austen has over 400 pgs.
#2 - IDK where you want to visit. lol But almost all of R.M. Ballantyne's books would work for this - Fighting the Flames (set in London), The Island Queen (set in the South Pacific, I think), etc.
#3 - Narnia? Lord of the Rings?
#11 - Actually Ted Dekker is a NYT bestseller, so Blink of an Eye by him was good(or see answer #1).
#14 - Again, Ballantyne. (A good majority of his books are set in another country). Um, Tarzan? Or Brothers at Arms by John J. Horn? That last one is set in Peru, England, and Spain. *nods*
#16 - Why did I put this one in there?! I don't read mysteries. XD Um, okay -- I read a kids mystery for this. So, I don't know what to recommend to you. :P *grins sheepishly*
#17 - The Lady and the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof was published this year, and that book was very heart-achingly sweet. Also, No Other Will Do by Karen Witemeyer (this is kinda a Christian Western Romance), Playing the Part by Jen Turano (okay, so I read the second book in this series and liked it, so this one should be pretty good too? I haven't read it yet. lol)
    #19 - I have no idea.
#21 - The Lady and the Lionheart's cover is so pretty! I used it for this.
#23 - Again, Ballantyne. Or Jane Austen.

All righty! Hope that helps some. XD THANK YOU FOR DOING THE CHALLENGE WITH MEEEEEE <3
