jeremiah chapter one // HE HAS A PLAN SET FOR YOU

December 27, 2016

I do believe we have all seen and heard "before I formed you in the womb I knew you." It's one of those Bible verses that I thought I knew exactly what it meant. I mean........don't you?

But in my Bible study today in school, I was asked to answer a question, which totally changed the perspective that I've been viewing this verse at.

 The verses were; "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (1:5)

Jeremiah responded with that he was only a youth..a young person, why he?!

The Lord replied firmly that;
"Do not say ; 'I am a youth',
for you shall go to all to whom I send you,
and whatever I command you shall speak
Do not be afraid to their faces
for I am with you to deliver you." (1:7-8)

 then the bomb was dropped. "When did the Lord choose Jeremiah to be His prophet?"

the answer?

Before he was even born, created...thought of by human.

which obviously means that God has a plan for me....and He's had it set in place since before I was even formed by His Heavenly Hand.  As a teenager, as a youth, that's the most comforting thing I could possible hear.

 I'm constantly being surrounded by my friends who are about to graduate come this spring, same as me, and they're making plans. College, mission school/trips, camps they're going to work at, and me?

I'm not. It's a lot of fear, waiting for a push in some direction, and also, I'm content. Right now, there is so much on my plate and the thought of rushing into college classes a few short weeks after I just reach 18 makes me shiver. I'm not ready.

 And, you know what, that's okay. Cuz, God's got it planned out.  I'll do what I need to do right now and take on the scary things when they get closer instead of freaking out and not accomplishing the tasks at hand.

also CHRISTMAS WAS TWO DAYS AGO ALREADY WAHT tell me about yours xD

also also you need to go check out my updated friends page - now titled "my goofy gang"

planning out plans??

  1. I know exactly how you feel Julia. I tend to worry a lot (Modern day Martha most likely XP) and making the right decision has always been one of those things that I am afraid I might do the wrong thing. Even with college. I didn't even want to go, but something opened up and now it looks like a great oppertunity. But I haven't done anything like it before, and what scares me is that I'll fail. But I know God is with me. I wouldn't have gotten this far without him, and for now, this is where he wants me.
    As for other plans I'm super excited for next year because I'm going to Israel! *is still waiting for the exaxt dates* but I am like giddy with excitment.
    (Btw, I love your photos. You look so cute in them!)

  2. I have it kinda bad...(lol), I've been planning since I was seven. People say it's because I'm so independent, but planning without praying can be very difficult, especially since God has it all planned out. I like planning ahead, and I'm working on telling God what I want to do (for His glory), and I know that what He has planned for me I'll like--because God will never set us up in agony. Even if we don't like it at first, it's going to evolve all into the one big plan for His glory. :D I mean, HOW COOL IS THAT!?

    1. omw since you were 7?!!!??? that's really awesome tho at the same time...like perhaps God has given you an idea of what He wants you to do. I'm sure, as long as what you're doing is pleasing to Him, that He is in it for now. Maybe he will end up changing the plans..you never know. IT IS SO COOL <33

  6. Such a great blog post! I, too, have been in a similar position. So many of my friends around me seemed to know exactly what they were doing with their life, and I didn't. God called me to wait and trust Him for a season. I still have no idea what all God has in store for me, but He is faithful and shows us all we need to know for the next step He has for us! I admire you're attitude in this season of life. It is so easy for me to get discouraged and compare myself with others. But, like the verses you quoted above, God knows us! He know YOU! He has a special plan and purpose that only YOU can fulfill!! When you are in the center of God's will, that's exactly where He wants you and that's when He can use you to bring Him glory!
    Keep trusting Him, Juju!
    Love you more than more! ;)

But truly, you seem to be finding things that the Lord would like you to do lately, which is fabulous. <333 Aww..it is hard to be like "I don't know what I'm doing" but honestly, I have so much to do I don't even have time to think or worry about it much........which is almost worrying in itself??! LOL!! Idk It's all okay tho ;)
      thanks Lydia!! <33

    You're right. It is super comforting to know he has a plan for us and that so long as we're willing to listen and follow him, we will do so many great things.

  8. Amen sister, amen! Even though we're young, God has a plan for us, and has since the beginning of time. It's so easy to worry about what to do with your life, but in the end, it's all up to God and all we can do is trust in His goodness and time. I adored this post, everything you say is just so spot on <3

  10. Wow, I really needed this.
    I am already graduated, never really had plans for collage of any kind,and although I sometimes dream of more schooling, it's not my real desire. (couldn't afford it if I wanted to)
    I just always dreamed of marrying some great guy, having tons of kids and fulfilling my life-long dream by being a good Godly wife and mother.
    Well, that hasn't shown any signs of happening soon, I lost my part-time job, so money is slowly dwindling down to nothingness, and the worries just seem to be stacking up.
    I have been feeling pretty useless, to be honest.
    You're words were very encouraging for me.
    Thank you!

      basically everything you said it too realistic bc IT IS. Your life is real and what you're going through is too. But don't feel useless, cuz you can never be that. Ever. You can always do something for Christ, no matter how small it is. <333
      I'll be praying for you Lakaysha, and I mean that *hugs*
