87 POUNDS OF BLUEBERRIES + TAKING A GAP YEAR + FIREWORKS + PAINTING STAIRS // whats new [camp nano day 11]

July 11, 2017

me: *peacefully listening to music* *realizes its christmas music* *screams and scrambles to turn it off* NO CHRISTMAS MUSIC IN JULY OK

I'm kinda falling behind in a lot of stuff, yet not. Idk how that is possibly a thing, but I just keep on moving the things I didn't get done on the to-do list for the new day and so forth until everything is completed. except, during nano, I would not recommend doing that for your word count. You'll end up having to write 3k in one day or else you'll be so far behind..... totally not speaking from experience. nah. who me? nope. *hyperventilates*

actual footage of me somedays
but then again, there are so many beautiful moments. Like sporadic adventures such as buying a pop-up camper off of craiglist and playing in moonsand with the little boy there. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS MOONSAND MADE OUT OF. its like moss and sand and uh. idk. its really neat and I'm slightly obsessed. shh.

or I could talk about picking a lot a lot of blueberries. that's basically all I have to say. Just don't expect me to eat much else after picking for two hours straight. One for the bucket, two for me - that's how I roll. *grins*

My grandpa brought fireworks over on the 4th and yesss that was terrific. We had never really done anything like that before...so it was just one of those things that you'll always remember. Always.

painting stairs on the other hand hahahhahahahahahaaaaaa just isn't the funnest thing to do. (don't ever try painting half at once and then doing the other half like a day or so later. doesn't work. YOU SEE THE LINE VERY CLEARLY. *moans and yanks at hair* #thethingsyoutry)
lets face it this is also me
and yes, I am taking a gap year. I did orientation and testing for college (yes I survived) but after a lot of thought and prayer and talking and pro vs con lists I was just like "YA KNOW WHAT not right now" and seriously the second after I made that decision, all I felt was relief. I'm still working my summer job + just applied for a job at my library (PRAY PLEASE) and going day by day, writing my novel, gardening, swimming and sibling bonding --- I know this is right.

btw, I am so overwhelmed with jane maree --- she did this amazing post about my poetry book IM JUST SOBBING K

also I'm craving a crazy baking experience. any dessert suggestions???

EVER PICK BLUEBERRIES (or any other fruits?)
WHAT DECISION HAVE YOU MADE RECENTLY THAT BROUGHT RELIEF?

  3. BLUEBERRIES ARE LIKE MY ALMOST FAVOURITEST BERRIES EVER. *groans* I love them so much. But they don't grow here, it gets too hot and they turn into blue sultanas before they're ripe. *sighs* so sad.

And since you have so many blueberries YOU SHOULD MAKE BERRY PIE. *bounces* Berry pie is my favourite thing to make and I'm quite proud of my mishmash recipe. XD You must make it. *nods*

*shrieks* eeep you had a link to my blog *flails* Bless you, you wonderful bean. <33

  4. Taking a gap year sounds like a wise decision. And I would be relieved too. ;)

We actually have blueberry bushes in our yard. They produce a good deal but not a TON.

And also, I always just love your pictures. :)

    Have a wonderful day!

Ohhh yes. Moonsand is... weird, but SO FUN. Have you ever tried Flubber? You should look it up on Pinterest - now that stuff is amazing. O.o
Woooow that's a lot of blueberries. We also got pounds and pounds of blueberries, but we just bought them. XD I don't think there's anywhere to pick your own around here.
Hope your gap year goes great!
And as for dessert... ooh, coconut cakes are fun (and adventurous) to make. If you like coconut, that is, which I do.

  6. I just graduated, and am thinking of taking a gap year as well- probably one of my more recent decisions that brought me some relief. My sister also took a gap year, and it gave her a lot of time to think instead of jumping into something she wasn't sure about. I hope it works for you as well!

And I agree with Mira Elizabeth- you can't go wrong with brownies! Adding in some instant coffee to the batter (if you like coffee) or topping the finished product with gooey frosting makes them even more special.

    1. *high fives you* WELCOME TO THE GRADUATION WORLD XD its fun eh? I really think it would be a safe decision..plus maybe I'll want to pursue becoming a librarian or something?? idk.

HEY! I've added instant coffee before! Isn't it so good?? I do it with boxed cakes too, just to add a bit of a richer flavor. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

    2. Thanks! Oh, a librarian? That sounds like a really cool job. My only problem if I ever became one, is that every time someone brought one of my favorite books to the desk to check out, I'd want to spend at least ten minutes talking with them about it, or telling them what a great choice they made...

Whenever I tried instant coffee I ended up doing something wrong, so the brownies didn't turn out exactly the way they were supposed to, but it still made the brownies more rich, and it was so good! Hmmm, cake mix? That sounds good, as well. I'll have to keep that in mind...

  7. I'm in the same boat! I was accepted to four colleges and up until April-ish, I fully planned on going to one of them. But then my parents and I started talking and I was like "lol so I don't really want to go to college yet" and they were like "that's totally fine" and I'm SO happy to be at home for another year.

    Dessert suggestions-- anything with cheesecake!!!

  8. I graduate high school next year and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do yet (college and etc.) I'm still praying about it.
My older sister took a gap year and she said she's so glad she did.
For dessert? Homemade ice cream cake is always a good idea! Or homemade hand churned ice cream! My Daddy makes the best homemade ice cream! We just had some for the 4th and it was amazing, like always!!
We (my siblings and I) have been picking a lot of blackberries that are growing around our house and making a homemade blackberry drink that my Grandfather made when he was a young boy growing up on a farm. It is SOOOOO GOOD!!!

  12. Well, this was fun. Your writing style is so cute, it's just like a little journal except it's like you're talking to us -- except you're writing. LOL.
Ummm....a long time ago when I lived in Carbondale we would go pick blueberries and strawberries and I remember us sobbing because it was so blasted hot and we were so young. XD
A decision I've made recently was a really hard one...and it took me a while to get over it, but if I hadn't done this really uncomfortable and awkward thing I wouldn't know and feel what I know and feel now. Does that make any sense??

    Fantastic post,
