MY HAPPY PLANNER AND HOW IT WAS WORTH THE $23 + tons of pics // how this weekend went and yes i cried

July 25, 2017

YOU ASKED FOR A POST ON MY PLANNER SO HERE I AM (hope you enjoyed lookingstalking my planner photos hehehe I KNOW YOUR PLANS YOU CANNOT FOOL ME)

basically I have had a couple different planners over the past two years. The first one actually worked pretty fantastically, but legit was gigantic. I don't think I've ever had a notebook so large. Then, I moved on to my bullet journal, which was super small, but I had to make a new week sheet like constantly bc I never had enough time to plan ahead....which was really really hard for me bc I couldn't write down something which would be happening a few months in advance. uhg.

aka I was forgetting birthdays and big things like that SORRY MY FRIENDS.

I finally reached the point after I graduated and I just knew the bullet journal wasn't working anymore. I needed SOMETHING but it couldn't be something that was too small or too big, utterly blank or way too busy, covered in sections which I would never use, etc etc etc.

I searched and searched and searched -- and found THE HAPPY PLANNER. (it lives up to it's name jsyk)

I first found it on Amazon, which was pretty neat but I was heading to town that day so I was like "okay I'll look at Walmart." THEY HAD IT. but for like $23.00. I cringed and winced and cried and whined and begged people for money (no not really jk) and finally was like "its like $2 a month." so I snapped out of it and calmed down. lol

of course tho I got home and shared about it on my insta story and a girl I know messaged me and was like I GOT THAT AT COSTCO FOR $12 AND ITS 48 MONTHS WITH STICKERS AND MARKERS TOO *crashes and booms and moans and sobs in the background*
nah. I'm fine. really. *groans*

But, still, no matter what, it's been worth it. I'm able to plan AHEAD which is huge. I'm able to look back -- also there is enough space for me to add different things each month (like right now I am keeping my nano word count at the bottom + what I've written for the day just for my own mental count). I just really really love the freedom of having the planner planned and set for each week. (aka i'm getting lazy or really busy? I'll take the 2nd please)

also its really cute. *grins*

THIS WEEKEND GUYS OH GUYS OH GUYS REMEMBER HOW I TOLD YOU I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT IT gosh. it was like a wonderful thing + a half. so so so memory filled. All I can keep thinking about was the laughs and stories told and the hugs then the saying goodbye and my grandpa telling me to go away bc I was crying. (in a total loving/choking on emotion way)

well so far today has been the most relaxing of my entire summer. It won't last, sadly. but hey, I would get bored anyway. I'm thinking of doing another boho hair wrap also keep an eye out for my monthly post soon. It's gonna be a good one *grins*

WHAT DO YOU USE FOR A PLANNER??
HOW BUSY/LAZY IS YOUR SUMMER?

  2. I need that planner. Seriously, it's wonderful! I love planners, but a happy planner, could anything be better? Relaxation never seems to last, unfortunately. I hope the rest of your summer is fabulous!

  4. OH THAT PLANNER IS SO CUTE. I use a bullet journal, because I need more space than planners allow me on some days, and none other days, and the inconsistency bothers me. (I'm pretty sure I use your bullet journal notebooks! XD)

WAIT BRB HOW IS IT THE END OF JULY ALREADY? I THOUGHT IT JUST STARTED.

  5. DUDE. THAT PLANNER IS ADORABLE. I LOVEEE IT. I tried using a BuJo, but since I didn't have a grid notebook, it was sort of a pain to manage?? So I just got a gorgeous new planner today . . . it reminds me of yours, actually, but a lot thinner and more minimal. I THINK I'M IN LOVE. XDD

(also weird question. did you put a vsco filter on those photos?? hb2, I think?? idk I'm just weird and curious XDD)

  7. So cute! I've been trying to get my life together too and was leaning SO CLOSE to the bullet journal and nearly ordered one from Amazon...before finding the 2017-18 planner that I'd begged my mom to buy for me from Wal-Mart. So I'm using that for now; it's actually not ratchet (thought it's nothing close to the Happy Planner) but it's efficient and getting the job done for me. At least for now. Of course, school and college applications and extracurriculars haven't started yet...*gulp*

I think I'm just gonna settle for stalking your and others' cute planners for now :P

I'm personally gonna be trying out a bullet journal this semester because I honestly need to get my life in check, and the flexibility of a bujo just seems more practical. also it's just a lot cheaper cuz YO IM GROANING RIGHT ALONG WIHT YA. My condolences to your loss of 23 tickets to happiness.

as for my summer? heh yeah, it's pretty slow. Literally everybody in my fam works a bunch so there's not much transportation anywhere. BUT HEY it means more time for reading yo blog which I LOVE BTW LIKE GOSH <333

  11. That's an adorable planner!! I love the "To-Do" sections and the like. I have one which has writing quotes on every page and is themed with a super pretty pastel watercolor background. My sister found it for me at Staples. It was expensive but worth it. :D

My Summer has been SO busy. First I went to my Grandpa's house for two weeks, then I'm volunteering at VBS, then I've got my aunt and uncle coming to visit, then a family reunion, then a different aunt coming to visit after that!! AHHHH!! I don't get a lot of downtime until late August. :P

  13. I just like the fact that it's called a happy planner. And it looks really nice, and motivational, and easy to use. I know what you mean about bullet journaling though - it didn't seem to be that effective for me either.

I actually don't use a planner because I'm too lazy and cheap to invest in one, but I see so many reasons why I should, haha. Glad your weekend was extra fabulous, and your grandpa sounds so sweet!
