BE INSPIRATIONAL // photo diary of julia ryan the csa farmer just in case you were interested

November 1, 2017
so it wouldn't stop raining so we had to keep draining the water out lol

hello all you creative humans out there! NANO HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED and well let me guess 2% of you actually feel like you're prepared for a month of writing 50k and the rest of you are like

HEEEEEELLLPPPPPPP MEEEEEEEEE

so I guess this post is dedicated to the 98% of the unprepared population bc bro I GET YOU.

I was driving along to work the other day when I heard in my super odd head "be inspirational". I was like DUDE THATS BEAUTIFUL. so many times I see "how to be inspirational" or whatever but tbh I really like BE INSPIRATIONAL. It's really soft and gentle and loving. like inspiration should be.

Instead of loading you with songs and pinterest images and even Bible verses to uplift you, I'm going to tell you about my struggles. but tbh Matthew West's BROKEN THINGS is really really really inspirational.

I'm asking YOU to be inspirational -- with me of course. I guess I'm getting sick of my own negative attitude.

like..here, let me show you.

  • gas prices are too high
  • i don't like snow
  • my alarm went off too early (tho this is perfectly justified right)
  • I DON'T HAVE SPOTIFY PREMIUM ANYMORE
  • my laptop is dying
  • i just want summer back
  • my bestie is too far away
  • bad hair day (aka always)
  • i don't have time to be creative
  • i don't have time
  • sugar is bad for you but tastes so good
  • I'M STILL WAITING FOR MY BOOK TO COME IN AT THE LIBRARY
  • yadayadayadayada

I MEAN IT JUST KEEPS GOING.  And, sometimes, it gets to the point where I feel like I'm so lost in it that I am legit lost. like uhm hello I don't think this is good.

Negativeness drowns you. (speaking from experience) Positive thinking is a big deal. like

  • my mom made homemade bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • my headphones are working
  • WATER IS BEAUTIFUL
  • my co-workers are pretty great
  • music is golden
  • sleep <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
  • ALL 169 OF YOU FANTASTIC PEOPLE + 4 YEARS BLOGGING LIKE YAY
  • my bestie and I text + talk on the phone all the time
  • ice cream is still in the freezer

And, well, yeah. It's a mentality that you have to learn how to keep going. and going and going and going and going. forever. so here is where I'm at. Be inspirational means a lot to me now. It goes deeper than just the words we speak but much more the smile we carry. I tend to laugh a lot but I also tend to grump a lot. I guess I need to make the 1st overcome the 2nd. It's ok. I'm still learning.

BTW in case you were wondering, these photos were from like 2 weeks ago when it was actually warm. *sigh* BUT I NEED TO BE INSPIRATIONAL SO LOOK OUT WORLD JULIA IS GOING TO TRY TO LIKE THE SNOW AND TRY TO BE HAPPY THAT MY ALARM CLOCK IS RINGING (k lets be honest that one will be hard) AND WELL ABOUT GAS PRICES HA YEAH SORRY imma going to be negative about that one forever. blah.

me driving along and seeing gas prices climbing

but *grins* can you believe it NOVEMBER IS ACTUALLY HERE. WOW. fast, huh? Enjoy each second friends.

*runs off to idk like sleep or read*

p.s this is my 300th post

WHAT DOES BE INSPIRATIONAL MEAN TO YOU?
NAME ONE NEGATIVE THING AND ONE POSITIVE
ALSO WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING RN

  2. I like this post a lot, especially your thoughts about being inspirational and positive. :) The connotations of 'be inspirational' to me include a lot of God-time, because the word 'inspire' is literally 'in spirit' and was originally understood to mean divinely influenced. So after I discovered that, I connect inspiration with being filled with the Holy Spirit. So to 'be inspirational' means I need to make sure I'm connected to God, so His spirit can then be the inspiration to others. (Does that make sense? I'm kind of really tired right now. XD)

One negative thing: I have assignments due this week, and I'm not ready. :O One positive thing: I saw a friend today I haven't seen for ages, and we had a great catch up. :) Also, this post was a really positive thing (though I totally get cold weather and early morning alarms). Happy November!!

  3. Yes, I love the phrase "Be Inspirational"! That's always been a "dream" of mine. To inspire other people. I think that's one of the greatest, most precious things we can do. To inspire people to be better, to be happier, to know Jesus more, to love more, to live freer and to laugh harder. (That doesn't all come by itself though. For years I've struggled with a desire to be famous. It sounds stupid, and it is selfish, but I've always liked the idea of being famous. I tell myself that if I was famous, I'd inspire people and use it to make the world a better, happier place. But I think it's just an excuse for me, because I often subconsciously base my worth off how much people like me. And that's not a good thing to do, but it's SSOOO easy to do it.)

ANYWAYS RAMBLING. Basically, yes, 100% agreed!

(Also, Lucy pulls hilarious faces. XD)

WHAT NOVEMBER IS HERE STOPPPP. That's actually kind of terrifying. It feels like yesterday that I was starting 2017! Mind you, so much has happened it's overwhelming.

One negative thing and one positive thing:
    Negative:
I didn't get everything ticked off my to-do list like I was hoping for.
    Positive:
All my family is home tonight and we are all safe and well and happy.

    I'm currently re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  4. Yes, you are so right about this! I'm so often stuck in a pattern of negative thinking and it IS like drowning. It's hard to make positive thoughts keep coming, but maybe it gets easier with time? I'm so glad for NaNo and a new month and being able to sort of start fresh, in a sense. Also I am reading Turtles All the Way Down right now, so excited! :) <3 Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. I love this post, Julia! I just found your blog, btw, but me loves it. :) And I'm Amaris, in case you're wondering.
It is sooo important to try to remain positive! Otherwise life can be no fun at all. :P

I AGREE ABOUT THE GAS PRICES THO.
We probably live in totally different states yet STILL IT'S A RELATABLE PROBLEM.

Anyways: you asked, what does inspiration mean to me; well, to me it means seeing beauty in everything. Even places where you don't expect to find it. Because there's always some.

You also asked one negative thing and one positive thing: Well, negative will be the gas thing (AARGGHG >:( ) , and positive is... the window next to me has a very orange tree. And I like it. :)

I'm reading The Help right now. I think it's by Kathrine Stockett. Very good so far!
Anyways, I hope you're having a good Fall!

    #what do you mean
    #snow is awesome

  10. First of all, I loved this post so much.

    And now.
Negative- *has to actually think about this, amazingly* I have to be the first person to walk down the aisle at Felicity's wedding and I'm walking down with the one guy Felicity hasn't met. I really don't want to touch his arm. Lol

Positive- my bridesmaid dress came and all that needs to be done for altering is shortening the straps, and my aunt is gonna do that today for nothing (a huge help to this poor girl), and I actually feel like a princess in the dress, the color is stunning, and I'm just super pumped about it in general. XD

And I'm TRYING to re-read "The Silent Songbird" by... *can't remember* but life (aka wedding and shower) get in the way. ;P

Positive- Music is great. I have my handy-dandy Pandora playing all hours, soothing my poor wounded spirit. Also, PAYDAY soon! *confetti*

I just finished 'The Man Called Noon' by Louis L'Amour. *cries because it's over*

OOOOH. yesss <3 Music is good. As is Dick van Dyke <3 <3

I actually haven't! But, I see like ALL of his books at the library all the time XD

    2. I survived. *flexes muscles*
But I'll admit crawling into bed as soon as it was over.

Louis L'Amour is my favorite author by far.
He's definitely not your typical girl's favorite, but I'm not a typical girl. *And I don't mind!*
A few cuss words, but since all the books we have are from my dad's boyhood days, they are marked off with a pen. Now my little sister can read them without any problem.
I come from a family of western lovers, so I grew up on Louis L'Amour. Even before I could read, I'd stare at the covers and wonder what was happening.
My dad read them out loud sometimes, and I can still hear his voice whenever I read them now. <333
I just love his style of writing.... *big heart in my eyes*
Can't explain it, but it's so simple but poetic.
      I recommend a 'looksie' *winks*
