LOL WHEN WAKING UP IS HARD

July 18, 2018
i love the feeling of waking up early after you've made it through the awful waking up process. you get me?

P.S i accidentally turned off my alarm this morning and sarah came in my room like "YOU'RE LATE FOR WORK" lololololol so lets move on with this post with that in mind.  >.<

I work 3 very different jobs which all have different starting times. 3-4 days of the week I'm up at 6-7am and then usually work until 6-8pm. but then there is friday in which I only work a 2 hr shift typically???

ITS ALL SO MUCH TO KEEP IN ORDER LOL, which is almost fun, but also it makes it difficult to keep a strict sleeping schedule for myself.  I'm also known for having my shut down time where I literally just stop talking and people look at me like ??? and I'm like "night folks"

also I learned that caffeine at 7pm is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea. I made myself an iced coffee last week because I had 5 hours of sleep on a 13 hour work day and well... I basically was up for 20 hours straight because the coffee was a little too strong *facepalm*

so here are my pro tips

  • go to bed early but not too early. I've learned that if I try to hit the hay too early I lay there and THINK. #firstworldproblems
  • reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!!! I'm such an advocate for bedtime reading. turn your phone off (but maybe leave the finding neverland soundtrack please) and read.
  • prepare as much as you can for the day ahead. it helps yourself chill and relax so you don't have to lay in bed and think lol
  • have soft lights on when reading. the brighter your light, the more likely you are to feel awake even tho you are tired.

FOR WAKING UP

  • set more than one alarm (that way you don't hit off LIKE I DID THIS MORNING LOL)
  • also set that alarm earlier than you need to so you can hit snooze once. Ahh the beauty in that feeling xD
  • open your shade/turn lights on and your happy music
  • think about the exciting things that you either planned or don't have planned for today. KEEP SMILING xxxx
  • or best of all, have a Sarah to wake you up, just in case. lololol

what are some of your tips??
when do you normally wake up/go to bed?

  1. I know what you mean, I love the early morning but waking up is hard work. I get up most days at 4:45am and get to bed at 9pm(ish), but that will have to change soon as I am getting a job soon. And man I wish coffee worked that well for me I'm that wired person that coffee makes tired lol.

    1. uh why in the world do you get up that early if you don't have a job right now forcing you to?! LOL! You're amazing!!! and eh, having it make me wired isn't that great because sometimes it makes me feel sick :P

  2. My favorite tip from this list: "Have a Sarah" XDXDXDXDXD HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Most of these I agree with. But it's just annoying to hit the snooze button, haha. That doesn't stop me from doing it... but it's annoying to have to growl at the alarm each time it goes off ;). What I have always liked is to set my alarm for the latest time I have to get up, and then try to get enough sleep that I beat the alarm (although that doesn't happen enough), haha! My biggest tip is to get up as soon as you wake up! You don't have to do something right away; just sitting up and reading does the trick for me. But laying there for "a few minutes" either puts me back to sleep or makes me sluggish all morning, haha :).

  3. GIRL, this post is like, me. xP That first line is like, yep. And your first tip: go to bed too early and then you just lay there and THINK. YES.
This post is right on time, because I just started to take action on getting on a routine. I stay up too late, and sleep too late, so... I need a routine so I don't waste my life. Lol xP

    Love the second pic, btw!

  5. haha yes to all of this! I work only once a week and I whine the entire morning. I need to be at our frens' place at 8:30 cos they give the ride which means leaving the house at 8:15. And I feel really stressed if I don't have at least two hours to get ready. so I try to wake up at 6 or 6:30. The past month we watched so much football (soccer) bc of the World Cup and had to wake up early a lot of the week bc the matches started at 7. How I miss the World Cup ... no more early rising motivation lol

  7. My tips??? Forget adulting and do what you want!

Haha, if life worked that way, lol. No, actually, I try to wake up early so I have time to work out and write before I go to work since I go to work in the late morning time.

I love to be awake in the early morning and in the late night... they conflict a lot, obviously, lol.

  9. hahaha this is great! This summer, I've really been working on keeping a decently strict sleep schedule (despite not having any work lollollol but that's an issue for another time), and I'm always down for more tips. XD

(also LOL I was dealing with a ton of jetlag (many hours' worth) and had coffee at midnight once. would recommend if you don't want to sleep for 30 hours. works wonders)

    1. have you been able to keep said strict schedule? if so, have you been feeling better? I notice if I go to bed too late, the next day I'm physically exhausted in different ways than normal. like breathing is actually harder!!

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAN. 30?!?! no thank you

    2. It's been going decently well, and getting progressively later every day, but at least I'm not sleeping until 10 every day, and I'm definitely more energetic than I would otherwise. Coffee helps too XD

  10. You are such a busy lady! IT'S AWESOME THAT YOU ARE DOING SO MUCH! Waking up and getting out of bed almost seems harder when you have a full day of work than if you are getting up early by choice. I had a teacher that congratulated us for getting out of bed in being in class. It was the sweetest thing because it really can be hard sometimes.

  11. Agh, you've hit upon such a struggle of mine! :P

I hate waking up, but yeah, it's great... once you're awake! I get up at 6:30 AM twice a week, when I have to work, but most other days I'll go to bed late (i.e. 10 or 11PM) and get up around 8. :P I just feel so much better when I do it that way, honestly!
My pro tip for waking up would be to throw your alarm on the other side of the room (or place, if it's your phone, haha), so you have to GET UP to turn it off. You'll hate yourself in the morning for it, but thank yourself later.
My pro tip for going to bed early, is doing some stretching (/yoga), as it really loosens your muscles and gets you to relax and feel sleepy. :)

Also, COFFEE IN THE MORNING. (And music.)

still though, waking up at 8 isn't bad!! I did that today without an alarm and it felt nice. It's a good time to start the day if you want to make into the evening with sanity lolololol
urrrrrrrrrrrgh that is sooo tough to do! It's a good pro tip though XD ohhh also stretches, yesss!!

      THANK YOU GABBY
