MY CHALK BOARD WALL! I had this perfectly inspired idea to paint my wall with chalkboard paint. Well - I was happily surprised to find CHALKBOARD SPRAY PAINT in my stocking on Christmas morning! It was so simple. All you have to do was spray it on, wait 24 hours, cover the whole thing with chalk, erase and draw to your hearts content. I plan on ALWAYS doing new quotes.
When Bree was younger, she randomly slapped a mosquito on the back of her door. Many years later, we realized it was still there! I think it was one of those 2 a.m moments when we officially named him "Samuel Patrick Lewis Almanzo Thomas—the first" or "Mr. S.P.L.A.T". Seriously, after close to 7 years, three of its legs are still there.....like gross. And no, we didn't know how to spell Lionel nor Eugene all those years ago... hehee
As you may have noticed, I have changed my blog name! I have been dreaming of going by the name of "The barefoot gal" for a long time now - and my dream has come true. My blog goals are still the exact same, to post for God's glory! I guess after close to 3 years of having the same name, I felt the urge for a change. With the help of Sarah (and she did A LOT) and Bree, my new blog name is now: The Barefoot Gal.
Your blogger dashboard may take a few days to fully grasp my new URL—but if you still have problems after that, let me know. :D
That chalkboard paint is SO cool. You did a great job! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha...I loved the last picture! LOL! Can't believe three of "Mr. S.P.L.A.T."'s legs are still there! :D Something like that happened to me once...I killed a spider in the basement (I think it was in 2012) and I'm pretty sure he's still there....I'll have to check now. ;)
I really like your new blog name! My URL is adapting well to the new name too. ;) So do you always go barefoot?? lol
*Sunny
Thank you! I loooooooove it. I actually did a new quote last night. "Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body." Hahaa.. it's become a running joke. ;) Ooh, let me know if he is still down there. xD Thanks, Sunny! I'm glad its working - and yes, I am the barefoot queen. I seriously HATE shoes. ;)
DeleteHa ha! You're so funny! Poor Mr. S.p.l.a.t! :) :P
ReplyDeleteYour new design is adorable! Sarah did a great job!<3
LOL! I know, the poor guy. But he was invading a girls room!!! ;) Thanks, Bree helped with the header and Sarah, she's just amazing cause she can read Chinese. ;)
DeleteHow did reading Chineese help with your new blog design? I like the chalkboard wall. Can she speak it fluently?
DeleteLove,
Ruthie D.
LOL! I meant that computer coding is like Chinese. ;) Thanks, I love it too! :)
DeleteSamuel Patrick Lewis Almanzo Thomas The 1st? WHERE DO YOU GUYS GET THIS STUFF?
ReplyDeleteBTW Your new blog title really suits you and your chalkboard wall is awesome.
welllllllll.. I don't know. xD I think it's just the craziness in us all. haha! Aw, thanks! You've been a huge help too. ;) IKR?! I love the thing!
DeleteI love your new design and name! I've been blogging for four and a half years and in that time I've had three different blog names. But I think I've finally settled down with one I love.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted a chalkboard wall. They look so amazing. Who doesn't want to be able to write on their walls without it being permanent?
Sophie! Thanks - I am sooo happy with how it turned out. xD Woah, I didn't realize you changed it so many times! I love what I have. I don't think I'll ever change it now. ;) Right!!! I'm not normally the type who just DOES things, but this just had to be done. lol!
Deleteyay for the new look!! I LOVE it. ;) Cute fonts too!
ReplyDeleteLol Mr. S.P.L.A.T.!!! I would've liked to meet the poor guy. ;) I'm sure he's super happy you guys have kept a few of his legs so you can remember him.
Oh me too! I told Bree I wanted to kept the same color theme - and to do whatever she thought was best. She knows what is best. ;) Oh reallly?? You like stinking bugs?? ;) Hahaa I'm very sentimental.
DeleteHey Julia,
ReplyDeleteWhen is your birthday? I saw on another blog you said you're going to be 18.
Yours truly,
Joy
Hey Joy! My birthday is in August. I don't remember saying that I will be turning 18..lol, I won't be 18 though. ;) Maybe it was someone else? :)
DeleteOh my goodness, Mr. S.P.L.A.T sounds so cute! I actually have a mark on my wall where suddenly, after one night, a dead mosquito appeared on the wall-- or the rest of what remained of him, anyway. >.<
ReplyDeleteAnd can I just say, I LOVE YOUR CHALKBOARD WALLS. Seriously, it's been one of my top DIY projects to do... I'm not allowed to embark on the project until college, though. XD
xoxo Morning
Oh his legs are VERY cute. ;) ;) not. lol! hahaa!! I probably would have washed him away a long time ago, but he wasn't in a bothersome place. I mean, behind the door doesn't really matter. lol Really??! Awww, that's too bad. I'm sure you'll enjoy it even more later then. :D
DeleteI almost panicked wondering what my computer was doing, when I clicked on the thumbnail to your blog, and a title I'd never seen popped open! Haha! But I saw your picture and recovered quickly ;).
ReplyDeleteReading the comments on your dear little bug (ugh!) was *almost* funnier than y'all's very impressive name for the poor thing... haha! Wow, you girls are a hoot!
oh LOL! sorry about that. ;) Random change a week ago. lol! hahaa, yeah, sometimes I surprise even myself.. it just seemed fitting for it to have a name. ;)
DeleteTotally fine! My current blog is actually my second... I, too, decided that my blog needed a complete rehaul/new name about two and a half years ago... but after blogging for about seven years with the same site, I couldn't bear inflicting an identity crisis on my blog, so I just started a new one... hahaha! I know, I'm strange...
DeletePoor Mr S.P.L.A.T! ( Lol! ) Thats so awesome that you got a chalkboard! We have one in our office and we all love it!
ReplyDeleteHahaaa.. yeah poor guy. ;) It was actually like a paint - but it's still super awesome! I want to paint everything with it now. ;)
