sweet potato pie // complete shock

This Christmas has surely left all the past in the dust. I've never been SO surprised before - like EVER. My whole family had such a wonderful day, but let's go back into detail. Christmas Eve was spent doing some baking (I made a cherry pie!), decorating the tree, playing card games, and my favorite part of all, watching the Nativity Story. We of course snacked on homemade chex mix. ;) It's always such a peaceful time to enjoy the movie...then off to bed! ;)

I woke up yesterday at around 7.. lol! And surprisingly, I was the only one awake. xD I went back to sleep. heehhe! The next time I woke up, I heard all my siblings goofing off in the hallway. I joined them. lol My brother got a perplexus game...have you ever seen those? SO MUCH FUN IN A BALL. Anyways, we were soon downstairs opening presents...in our dining room, which was newly decorated for Christmas since we out grew our living room. ;)

Once it got to my turn to open my gifts, I randomly picked one. IT WAS THE RED UMBRELLA CANVAS PRINT THAT I'VE BEEN DROOLING OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know, the one I copied in hopes of printing myself for WAY less? I know.. like I said "my life is complete." lol!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I'm off to go paint a chalk board wall in my room with Bree - yes another one of my gifts!

Most surprising gift??
Favorite Christmas moment?

  1. Awwwww. How nice you got that painting. I would love to see the chalkboard wall you painted. Could you show a picture? And could you show pictures of other things you got for Christmas and of your family opening up gifts? ;)

I burst out laughing when I saw the text from your friend you posted, because, I, too, hollered to my sister Tori (the lover of red umbrellas- who got her own for Christmas :)!!!!) as soon as I scrolled by the picture -"She got it!!!!!". Heehee :).
I was NOT the first one awake... I think I was the last, haha!

  5. LOL! Really?! That's so great!! I was sooooooooooooo super surprised. I practically carried it around for the remainder of the morning. ;) I actually found a red umbrella (lol like you probably saw in my previous post) at goodwill! They are very inspiring. ;) Hahaa! Are you the oldest of your family? If so, that is probably why you were the last up. ;) I hope you had a great Christmas too!

    1. Yes, I'm the oldest... is it your experience that the oldest always sleeps latest?! Hahaha! Actually, I stayed up until 3:30 the night before helping my parents wrap the gifts for the ten and under crowd, haha :). So, I could say I deserved sleeping later then said ten and under crowd... but even my parents were up before me, haha! Sooo... IDK, haha :).
