bird watching // finding magic glass

February 4, 2016
When you take walks with my sisters, you literally have no idea what will happen. One time, Bree and I ran across 4 dead deer in a pile together...that was sad. Yes, I took pictures, but I do not plan to turn my blog into a graphic one. ;) Then, another time, 2 POLICE cars just randomly stopped on our dirt road. The officers proceeded to talk, and one police car stayed there for another 20 minutes.......?? Bizarre

Now, this random walk was decided to be taken on a foggy day. It was really photogenic and gloomy. ;)
And wet....anyways! I'm just walking with my head down, dreaming like usual, and listening to Bree and Sarah ramble about where they should take the photo and so on. "Uhhh..what is this??" Bree laughed and said, "the window pane!" Sarah then scrambled over to me and exclaimed that she had just wished the other day that she could somehow have one. Being me, I smirked and claimed it finders keepers. lol!

It is now sitting in my room. I think I am going to write on it with a permanent marker, put it in a frame, be a nice sister and give it to Sarah on her wedding day. What do you think??

Btw... I have this really weird thing going on. I cannot STOP repeating this song OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Owl City - You're Not Alone. go ahead. you try it ;)

Do you know what kind of bird that is?
What happens when you take walks?

    5. I commented as Tori again... whoops! Hope she doesn't notice, hehe... BTW, I meant to say last night, you mentioned that you always tell your Dad facts about the band/artist while listening to them... that's Tori! Haha! She researches movies before we watch them, and the whole time she's telling us, "He also plays... and voices... and did... and is --- inches taller than every other actor, so this and this and this other guy have to to this or this or this to get high enough to be in the same frame", and most of the times it's neat, but in the toughing scenes it's like, "CAN WE JUST WATCH THIS MOVIE AND CRY WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT YOU FEELING IGNORED", hahaha!

    6. Oh how funny! I have actually learned NOT to research facts about actors the hard way.. It has ruined 2 of my favorite movies because I learned not so happy facts about the actors that I really adored.. *sniff*

    7. That happened to my mom, haha! I really don't care to know about them because I'm afraid of that happening, so I only know what my sister has told me. And that I don't like Orlando bloom out of costume. Nothing about him, exactly... but... his hair creeps me out. Haha!

  2. Thanks for doing us all a favor and not putting that dead deer picture up. :P
I'm going to guess that the bird is a....sparrow? Haha, I'm not good at naming birds. Dogs, yes. Birds...not so much. XD
Nothing really exciting happens when my family takes walks unfortunately... I need to move to your town, I think. ;)
Oh, that You're Not Alone song is *incredibly* addictive. Jesus in Disguise by Brandon Heath is another one...oh, that chorus...

  4. Aw, the deer :(. That makes me sad! But I know what kind of bird that is! An adorable one! Hehehe ;). You thought I had a real answer, didn't you ;)?... And I think that would be the perfect wedding gift ;).

I have a really funny story about Owl City... So, I had a friend tell me he was awesome, I NEEDED to watch him, this one video especially... and I DID NOT like the song she thought was best, lol, sorry... anyhoo, sooo, we were watching "Wreck-it-Ralph", and the end credits come on with his song, and Tori asks, "Is that Toby Mac?" And Daddy answers, "No, that's Owl City. I really like his music." Tori and I sat there with cricket music playing between us (she didn't like the one I watched, either). But as we were listening to it, it didn't sound TOO bad, so we watched a couple more videos the next day to find out why Daddy liked him, hahaha! I like a lot of his stuff -and enjoyed the video that you shared- but he still makes me laugh because of that night when we questioned Daddy's sanity ;). And I still don't like that first song I heard, haha!

    1. IT WAS SO WEIRD TO STUMBLE UPON.. They are still there too. :P Oh you. I seriously did think that you knew. I was like YES finally! ;) Oh my goodness - I actually had the SAME experience!! I guess they just really grew on me..hehe! My dad really don't know many artists or bands, but he always tries to know. ;) I'll be driving and I'll be spouting out fun facts about bands and how the music videos look and how I wish the radio HAD the music videos.. lol!

OH, BTW, Josh Wilson has a NEW music video coming out tomorrow! YEEEE!!

I LOVE Owl City...I was just listening to it..him...(since it isn't really a band it's difficult to know what to call it xD). I love "You're Not Alone", but I think my favorites are "My Everything" or "Gold". :)

  8. Mmmm.... when we take walks?! We always listen to music...ipods, iphones, mp3's...you name it! And then sometimes we share devices with each other so one person's in their own world, and the other is in the REAL world, and they constantly ask, "what are you listening to? "
"O, I love that song! Remember this part?!" And we all start singing. #sidenote# -when yoyu're listening to music, you can't always tell if you're on tune, and it can sound horrible!!
On the topic of Owl City, have you heard their song, "It's Always A Good Time?" So catchy! It's been on my mind all week, and I just start randomly singing the intro, and my sister's like, "Awww, noooo...not THAT again! We don't want to rock out in the mall!"

    1. Oh really? I never really thought of listening to music.. I guess I just like talking and listening to the sounds of the wind and snow crunching beneath your feet.. hehe! That's sooo funny! Oh gosh, I know! That is the number one reason why I never sing with headphones in. ;)
Hmm... I actually don't think I know that song! Totally going to go look it up RIGHT NOW... :D

  9. Hi Julia,
I just want to let you know I'm un subscribed from your blog because of the name change I guess. Should I find an old post, unsubscribe, and try subscribing to this blog? I don't know if it'll work...

    Blessings,

  12. That's so weird that you found four dead deer all together...and sad. :-( I often take walks around our land that we own. Its 12 acres and it's all in the woods so there is always somewhere new to go, you just have to make sure that you don't get lost, lol!
I have actually never heard of Owl City, I will listen to the song though as soon as I finish this comment. ;-) Oh and I absolutely love the second picture!
