broken wind shield // car wash terror

February 24, 2016
Back in October, I had my first car accident.....
I guess I wasn't looking. It was a quick moment. I was going over a hill. A pickup truck came whizzing over the opposite side of the hill, kicking up a rock or two from the newly grated road. The second froze and then, I heard the CRACK. My heart skipped a beat because I was still reacting to that truck! I had honestly only driven about 4 times - and already ruined something - I was devastated.

My mom saw the quarter sized dent in our wind shield first. I was ready to cry lol!! It all ended well..who knew men came to your house and repaired wind shields in the driveway?! *giggle* Now, I have a little over 12 hours of drive time - towards my 50! :P

After MAJORLY embarrassing myself during the oil change, my dad had me maneuver over to the car-wash. For a split second I thought I could do it. HA! I then noticed it was one of those get-one-wheel-on-the-track-shift-into-neutral-and-we-will-take-over kinds. like no. I parked the truck, glanced at my dad, and jumped out. The Car Wash Man (well...what would you call him?!) laughed at me and exclaimed "you drove over the pit! come on! I'll just guide you in." My brain quickly examined the thought..and the letters N O flashed before me. "uhh..I just know this will be a bad thing..thanks though!"

  1. Well, that's barely bigger than our crack was! But Daddy even took the van to get it inspected and they didn't even mention changing it. Lol!!!
And I knew they changed windows in your driveway! Haha... one time a friend threw a rock in our fifteen passenger van side window, and they had to come fix it at their house, haha. We drove their van home until it was replaced, haha. Thankfully they were able to get someone out quickly :).

    1. Hahaa! Yes - that's VERY true! Especially since I've gotten all of that time over winter..and usually, driving is pretty near impossible where I live. :) Thanks for reminding me of that! <3

  3. You only have to get 50 hours!!! We have to do 120, my younger sister is half way there now. I did crack a windshield once, well I am not sure if it was me or someone else, but I noticed the tiny crack.... and since it is not big at all we have not got it fixed yet. But I did back the car into a bent star-picket early on when I had my Ls...... and that left a whopping dint in the back of the car.

  4. We had a cracked windshield once. It was a larger crack than yours and we were blessed to have a new one put in for free.
Please write more driving stories. So did you have an accident or not? If you didn't hit the truck then it wasn't a car accident.

Ps. Here's a tip. Don't ever.ever.ever. open your car door if you are in one if the automatic car wash machines at a hast station. It will rip your door right off. We saw a video of it happening to a man. It was kinda funny, lol.

    1. That is a blessing!! :D Haha, I honestly don't think I have any more at the moment. ;) Basically its just trying to drive safely with the occasional learning mishap. It was an accident. ;) Any sort of damage left on a vehicle, is consider an accident. Especially since the insurance covered it ;) lol
hahaa! I don't think I would ever do something that stupid! What was the man thinking? :P I mean..it just doesn't seem reasonable LOL

  5. Man, thats hilarious! I'm glad everything turned out in the end! Congrats on 12 hours by the way! I'm at 3:P Let me tell you my embarrassing story:P Well, last week we were in town and my mom wanted to go get coffee and so she had me go through the drive through. I had to go around this really sharp turn to get to the window and when I finally got there I was literally 5 feet away from the window!! *face gets red as tomato* SO AWKWARD, MAN! The lady was like "WHAT CAN I GET FOR YOU?? and when we finally got our order I had to get out of the car to grab it!
I have gotten much more practice since then though, so its all good now:)
