people watching // stuck on the wall

May 22, 2016
7. hours. in. the. car. Thanks to traffic it took 3 extra hours to get home. urgh. BUT - one cool thing about sitting in traffic on the highway for a long period of time is that you're able to people watch. You know, like in the Jack Johnson song. There was Mr. Pear Eater in the car beside us, who literally ate 2 or 3 pears in a short period of time. Sleepy Dude was behind us, who looked like he had had a looonng day.

Then there was the car filled with boy scouts and their leader on their way to some remote camping site. One guy was eating, the other was reading. lol! But, the coolest of them all was Mr. Smiley. He was just sitting there grinning!!

"uuhh..WHY is he smiling?!" -Bree
"Because he is going to propose tonight! duh" -me

Also. Note to self: do not - I REPEAT - do not climb up 9 foot walls that you can't get down from.

What's the longest you've been in the car at once?
Have you ever People Watched?

  1. Hey Juj! I know! Isn't it great to watch people!! I've not been stuck in traffic like it sounds like you were, but I do like watching people. They are so interesting and funny!! :D The only problem with watching people is... when they look at you... and... you make eye contact!! It's terrible! ;)
    Love you!

    1. Hey Lydi! Really? Never? That's amazing! I guess it depends on where you are driving. :P We were near the capital. EYE CONTACT. *gasp* it makes me shiver every time xD

  2. People watching is one of my favourite pastimes! It's so fascinating. :) The train is a great place to observe people, and I like the mall for that purpose as well. ;)

That would've been annoying for a four hour trip to take seven hours! Traffic is not my favourite thing. :P Probably one of the longest days traveling I've had would've been a couple of weeks ago - we drove about about fifteen hours straight, stopping only for fuel and the bathroom.

    1. ooh! I've never been on a "real" train before. I really want to though. :D I love sitting at the library and seeing people with their different books and movies. Or if they just want the wifi. *rolls eyes*

It WAS! Thankfully we had cookies and stuff. xD We were joking that we would start to sell cookies out the window. :P It made everyone laugh -which was good. ;) 15 hours!! AH! Only fuel and bathroom?! No food?? ;)

  3. Once my brother and I watched people out of the window of our RV and most of the people we saw were talking on their phone. :P

  4. sounds very VERY fun...in a way ;) recently I went to Washington, D.C., and we were stuck in traffic for two hours as we were trying to get to the place we were going to eat. NOT FUN. it was supposed to only take half hour, but, yeah. TRAFFIC. argh. but we passed the time (some of it) by looking at the people around us. We went in a bus, so that gave us a nice advantage to look down on the people. Haha, there was this one truck driver that was on the same level as us the one time, and all us girls were smiling and laughing at him (like in a nice way), and then he turned and SAW US ASDKJFD:SKF. that was SO AWKWARD. *ahem*
me and one of my friends were also trying to get the people in the cars to notice us too. we literally waved at them, but of course they didn't see us, much to our disappointment. :)

    1. no. THAT'S SO BAD. Traffic on your way to eat!! *GASP* that had to have been tortuous. :| LOL!! He looked at you?! oh goodness - what did you do? Did you look away and burst into laughter?? ;)
urrrghh, people and their little worlds. Its crazy that not one person noticed you guys! Maybe the windows were those darkened type?? IDK. But, I bet the bus was fun. Oh and being in D.C. Like. THAT HAD TO HAVE BEEN COOL. ;)

  8. The longest I've been in a car? Er... Probably 12 hours. I mean, not straight completely (rest stops!), but when we were driving from Spokane to my grandparent's in Iowa last fall we spent some long days in the car. But I like road trips, and long drives don't bother me! Especially with pretty countryside and good music to listen to! South Dakota and Wyoming are pretty states with lots of countryside! We passed a field of sunflowers in the glow of a sunset on our way through SD. :D And I occasionally people watch. Briefly, and very irregularly. ;) LOL

  9. I love people watching. On long car rides, ever since I can remember, my sister and I would wave to the people passing by. Getting a smile, wave, or look of confusion from the driver or passengers. It's fun to watch people when your on long car rides... the longest car ride I have taken was a 13 hour one from Portland to San Francisco.

And Hello!! I just found your blog!

    1. You've gotten waves?! I always just get the awkward stare. :P I even once saw my librarian friend ON THE HIGHWAY. isn't that funny??! Wooah, that was a long ride! We went to Maine when I was a kid, at that took 26 hours over a 2-3 day period though. It was still looonng. xD

Hello to you too!! Do you have a blog? :D

    2. Haha I think it's only because my sister and I are overly obnoxious when we do wave. 26 hours to Maine... I would not be able to deal!
