I absolutely love camping. Like roughing it would totally be my thing but I live in a family of mainly planners, so its kinda like you get out there in the forest (i mean campground) and its like "okay I somehow have to flip this pancake" *goes to look for stick* *sister runs up with metal spatula* LEGIT. oh well. someday I can camp like Miss Meg does. SRSLY GIRL YOU LIVE THE COOLEST LIFE.
but still. It was the best. I ACTUALLY READ 80 PAGES OF A BOOK IN ONE SITTING I DONT EVEN KNOW THE LAST TIME I DID THAT gooooosshh. like I said -- amazing. I also ate a few hotdogs and a lot of marshmallows + I got to stargaze under a sky full of the most amazing sparkling holes i've ever seen.
sarah + me in camper : *both have soda cans* *me put mine down and goes back to reading* *sarah is reading and picks up soda can* *.3 seconds after slurp*
-sare - "OH MY WORD EWWWWWW THAT WAS YOUR CAN"
-me
We also went hiking. We've been to this park loads of times before but never have been on this part of the trail before. GUYS. IT. WAS. AMAZING. like the elevation was spectacular. *dies at the photos which i didn't include* It's crazy to realize there are so many little hidden spots never seen before ONLY MOMENTS AWAY HOW EVEN.
also lets all acknowledge the fact that it is now August. *runs away crying*
But truthfully, camping was in part stressful because it was during the last weekend before NaNo ending and I still had 3k to write, which let's admit it, THAT IS STRESSFUL. I ended up getting back home to an incredibly torn apart bedroom (i had to re-paint my bedroom floor #longstory) and just plopping down on my bed to publish comments. Then, I heard a ding from hangouts and saw Savannah asking for a word war. I typed "I can't right now..but maybe later because I have to leave in 10 minutes." then erased that and was like JULIA JUST DO IT YOU'VE GOT 10 MINUTES.
Before I knew it, I was writing super fast and had met my goal + went 500 words over within 1 1/2 hours. *is still blown away* so yes. I AM A 2017 JULY CAMP NANO WINNER. *fist bumps*
I guess that was just one of those times that moved me to realize that I have to stop telling myself that I CANT do something when geesh, I CAN. same goes for you, k.
It's like 66 degrees and I think it is the 4th of August? Not sure. #summerliving (also deep apologizes for all of you who are going back to school very, very soon. I almost wish I were joining you...)
I'm off for an adventure of nerf library fun. Not sure if I get to play or have to walk around supervising -- either way, I'll have fun.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS FRIDAY??
EVER BEEN CAMPING BEFORE?
I just got home from visiting my aunt and uncle last night! And today has been a normal Friday at home - cleaning. The house is now clean and I'm sitting here still in my pajama's. *laughs*
ReplyDeleteWe are having a huge heat wave happening over here. No end to it in sight and forest fires all around - which means smoke, lots and lots of smoke. Yesterday we drove four hours from my aunt and uncle's to here, and never once did the smoke clear. *nods* Another drought like we had in 2015 *wants to scream* I hate fires and smoke is gross. *coughs* ok, so this year has actually been a LOT like 2015, I just realized. *laughs* That year I also went to NH AND visited my aunt and uncle, plus had a drought and was breathing smoke nonstop, ANNNNNDDDD went to an outdoor wedding where ppl were worried about the smoke. *nods* (the wedding is on Sunday and my cousin Kirsten is standing in it and I just know she's gonna be gorgeous!!)
You're asking ME if I've ever been camping!? *dies laughing* Camping was a HUGE part of my childhood. Camping at my grandpa's ranch, camping at Silver Star, camping, camping... it's part of who I am *winks*
YAY! Daminika is back! Sounds like a good friday too and WHERE ARE MY PAJAMAS?!?!?!
DeleteThat's crazy girl!! Its been super dry here, so having this weather is good. We needed the rain plus cool weather. Its been like 2ish weeks without rain and constant 83 degrees. I love it tho <3
Camping is the best isn't it?! I love it. so so so much.
I have been camping. Well, sort of -- we went in the house after not being able to sleep at like, super late at night. Does camping in your backyard count? *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteUmm...my sister had a farmer's market and so we got up at 5:30 this morning and drove forty-five minutes, and she made $187 dollars!! So that was super fun. It looks like you had a nice weekend too.
Amelia xxx
<3
Postscript: Honestly, I'm excited to start school!
Hahahaa!! Girl that totally does NOT count. Camping means that there is no bathroom near, you eat hot dogs and smell like smoke, can't shower and brushing your teeth means using bottled water/pretending there are mirrors when there aren't any, and getting eaten alive by bugs, plus YOU HAVE TO SURVIVE THE NIGHT.
DeleteOh that's so neat!! and YES THE SUMMER READING PARTY WAS AMAZING.
p.s EEP lucky. no fair
THAT LOOKS SO FUN!! (and also I must ask what lens did you use for these pictures bc they ARE AMAZZZZING. Like they literally look like film or something. So. So. Good.)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to camping, honestly. It's my dream. But my family doesn't like camping...so. It doesn't really happen xD
BRO IT WAS SO MUCH FUN (uhhmmm it was mainly Sarah's 55mm I believe! SERIOUSLY everyone is talking about the photos is this post and I felt that they were LAME. no joke.)
Deleteaw man. Tag along next time, k!
DUDE IT'S A 50mm lens *whaps you*
DeleteOH WHATEVER
DeleteYAYYYYYY JU YOU WON NANO!!!!!!!! (and I hope it's not creepy to call you Ju. Savvy does. Her fault. *backs away verrrrry slowly*)
ReplyDeleteYour pics are gold btw. So are you. <333
-Ariel
AWWWW THANKS ARIEL!!! (and dude it's not creepy in the least. Call me Ju all you want XD)
Deleteseriously. Ariel. What do I even say?!?! <33
CAMPING IS SO FUN. Last time I went camping was in April with my cousin and we had a huge fire and slept out under the stars because tents are overrated. XD IT WAS GREAT. And then we cooked our breakfast and everything and I burnt my hand on the fire because I was trying to cook bacon and I overbalanced and fell forward and caught myself...on the hot ash/coals. Oops. XP SO IT WAS VERY MUCH FUN. Because what is camping without some injuries??
ReplyDeleteBut it sounds like you had suuuuch and epic time. And also those photos. <333 They're so pretty and cool and just aesthetic. <3
ISN'T IT?!??! Oh man. sleeping under the stars. I WANNA DO THAT. but gosh wasn't it cold in April?! *realizes you live in Australia* BUT STILL. And ouuuuuchhhh! Are you okay? How did you do Camp Nano with a burnt hand? XD
Deleteyesyesyes. aw man. Thanks Jane <3
My parents refuse to camp which makes me so so sad, but I have friends who take me so it's all good. The bokeh on these photos is GORGEOUS, especially that spiderweb!
DeleteCongrats on winning NaNo! And isn't it weird/awesome/surreal to not be going back to school?? Everyone keeps posting first day of school pictures and complaining about their new teachers and I'm over here like... school? What even is that? #gapyearstatus

Yaas. It was so cool. <33 It wasn't really cold at all actually. :P
DeleteHehe yeaaah, I was fine. XD I was fast enough to pull my hand up again that I managed to *ahem* pass it off as painful from hauling wood, to anyone who asked me. Because my Aunt probably would've made me had some sort of medical attention and UGH. Too much bother. XD
Yes, I have gone camping, but not CAMPING. We have an RV, and sleeping in our RV in a forest doesn't qualify as real camping to me. :-/
ReplyDeleteHAhahaa nope...sorry, that doesn't really count XD You really need to go REAL camping girl!
DeleteYes, I DO! I think I would really enjoy roughing it. :D
DeleteHaha, eeekkk. *blushes* Well, you can give the credit to my family for making me go camping like that - I don't know if it's the first thing I would choose for myself, but now that I've done it so many times, it feels pretty normal. :P Well, some day you'll have to go and ROUGH IT. XD One thing I want to do is sleep in a wide open field under the stars, without a tent. Now THAT would be incredible. I've only ever done tents (though some tents I've "done" were so thin they had holes in them. Ahem. :P). One of the most intimidating things when camping is finding deadly snakes just across from your tent, centipedes IN your tent (true story!), and bugs that you've never seen the like of and hope to never see again end up in your food and bed. *shivers* That part I'm not too crazy about. (Thankfully spiders don't scare me, otherwise that would be another thing. XD)
ReplyDeleteMan, that's the neatest! I love how abnormal is normal for so many people. I really do. <3 I WANNA DO THAT TOO. I think it would be THEEEE NEATEST. I know a friend who did that in Hawaii - now A M A Z I N G. wait. deadly snakes? NEVER MIND I LIKE CAMPING HERE A LOT BETTER LOL
DeleteSounds like a fun week! And gosh 66 degrees sounds SOOO nice. It was 102 here yesterday... :/ But YAY congrats on Camp NaNo!!
ReplyDeleteYES! wait. 102?! THATS LIKE DOUBLE THE DEGREES OMW. Still tho. I prefer warm to cold any day ;) Aww <3
DeleteYOU WENT CAMPING *is jealous* I'm hoping to go backpacking next year with my dad. It's kinda raining a bunch right now, and though I can't complain because I LOVE the rain, I wish it was a little warmer outside.
ReplyDeleteANYWAY, HOW IS IT AUGUST? The summer went by WAY too fast. :')
CONGRATS ON THAT EPIC CAMP NANO SPRINT. <33
